Didnt see hart debut but can’t remember a young defender coming in and looking so composed from D1
Max is like Hart reincarnated in that respect.

Thought this from game 1 & haven't changed my view.

Look Max is going great and will hopefully become an elite AA level player for us.

Unlikely ever at Harts level though. I predicted he may be 75-80% as good which is still an excellent result but Hart is arguably top 5 Crow of all time. How often have we ever seen a brand new AFL player playing tall (he stood Plugger once) be AA in his first 2 years. Incredible player and athlete

Criminally underrated outside the club. I get the vibe that's just the way he likes it.

Gun, with so much upside still to come.

I dunno, he was getting a lot of praise by the commentators on Saturday

It is only the start of his 3rd season and he doesn't play a flashy role like a key forward or midfielder - I don't reckon he'll be underrated by many by season's end

Although not AA level, Luke Brown slotted in from day one and was quite composed and AFL ready.

Michalanney operates at a far higher level though.

Talented enough to be a Dawson understudy, will likely end up playing up the ground. Reminds of David Mundy - underrated, egoless and an absolute gun
I think there is merit in him playing more midfield and even up forward in the coming years. I’ve specifically took notice when sometimes he plays up forward and I think he’s possibly one of the most accurate kick for goals from what little I’ve seen of him up near the sticks.

Against GWS with ridiculous winds, where everyone was kicking them like balloons, he kicked magnificently on the run 50m out. Undoubtedly the best goal from long range that day.

Then against the Blues, he narrowly missed a goal from a similar long range.

Kind of reminds me of Andy Otten with that kind of defensive/attack role versatility.

The Ben Hart comparisons continue to hit real good

He's only kicked one. I don't think we can say much yet.

I'm sure Michalanney would be useful anywhere on the ground, but the role he is playing is extremely valuable to us. We have plenty of players who go go through the middle or up forward. I reckon we should lock him in down back for at least the next few years.

So you’re basing this off two pings for goal resulting in 1.1?

More skilled than Andy Otten.
