150 mm at worse
A quarter of annual. But other parts of Australia get this all the time. Problem will be combination of lightening and wind which will blow trees crack tile s etc. Then you're right in the shit. Don't know how to prepare for that.

Melbourne isn't designed to cope with that amount of water.

We aren't tropical North Queensland or Darwin.

Be alert, not alarmed. Prepare but don't panic. Stay informed.

It will be fine. Sydney has worse every few years with the east coast lows.

EFA - it still only takes 5 mills and many of Sydney's streets become impassable - it is the biggest abortion of a wet weather city in the world

Lol one of my sisters is going to Melbourne this weekend for a shopping trip.
Gonna bucket down the whole time.

Anywhere around the ranges could be looking at 300mm+
No joke.

I can't recall a thread like this for the floods in Queensland, South Australia's power outages, NSW bush fires or WA's weeks of 40C heat.

I wonder if we are up for a repeat of this:

In times of biblical downpours, spare a thought for the courageous men and women who install and service the rain and river gauging stations and measure the volume of water the rivers carry, all whilst dealing with the burden of administration.

I'm driving to south Australia on Saturday morning.
