ROUND 4 Sunday, Apr 22 Melbourne v Fremantle MCG (Day)

We are going to be staying in Melbourne for 3 days in April...any suggestions of places to stay....central, clean and not too expensive.

We would prefer to sit with other Dockers at the footy but I’m not over fussed about sitting behind the goals.

All help appreciated

Dunno how much it costs, but it's perfectly central to both Telstra Dome and inner city fun:

Medina Grande Apartments (has a pool and gym, if you care)
http://www.medina.com.au/default.as...ourne+hotel+apartments/medina+grand+melbourne

Otherwise the Rydges on Exhibition Street has decent specials from time to time (check www.wotif.com.au for specials on heaps of places)

i love punt hill on flinders lane
(www.punthill.com.au i think) halfway between mcg & dome
coles supermarket round the corner on elizabeth st
elizabeth & swanston st trams within spitting distance

with the MCG you just buy a genreal admission ticket
(cheap) for the away supporters end & go & huddle there in the cold with everyone else in the purple :)

& don't forget a trip to the afl hall of fame on swanston st absoultely fantastic for all ages & all sexes

hi, living in melbourne, i extend a warm welcome! the accor hotels (sofitel, novotel) are all pretty good. for great location, the hyatt is across the road from the g. for good prices, go on to wotif.com or lastminute.com.

hope this helps

Explorers Inn on Spencer St. Is close to the Casino and TD, and is only a small walk to the MCG and all shopping.

or

Hotel Victoria on Little Collins St. Central to all shopping and close to the MCG. A short walk to the TD and Casino.

Both great value, and have many good trips staying in both.

Will be at the Explorers Inn for 6 nights over the June long weekend.

A couple of decent places that you should get for not much more than $100 a night are the Grand Chancellor and the Rendezvous (used to be the Duxton). The Hotel Causeway was pretty good as well. To be honest, I haven't actually had a bad hotel experience over there.

Yeah just get a general addmisson and sit around the goals near your other fellow freo fans :D (except not in the cheersquad as it's reserved)
