Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

If they are both available I think that West Coast will take one of Rich or Natanui and Fremantle will take the other one. If BOTH of these locals are gone by the time Fremantle has a pick i'm really not sure what they will do .

Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

Nope not for Me,

Port would want a Ruck/KPF in Vickery.

I think Hartlett would go Ahead of Zibell

I agree with Hurley to Carlton

l would suggest most clubs with their first draft pick, will take who they believe has the most talent over position that the player may play.

The other point is that Ziebell will not fall below pick 6, in fact it would no surprise to see him go 3 or 4.

I have thought at times that Fremantle may actually go for Ziebell, as they need more mids, they have Sandilands who is gonna dominate for the next few years, so they will have plenty of time to develop a young ruckmen who they could pick up later in the draft, they also have Bradley (not much of a ruckmen though), they also have a young ruckmen on the list already, young brent connely, also, the idea of Jeff White returning home has been bantied around, so even if Warnock was to go to Melbourne,

their are a few ideas that could prove NicNat is not going to the Dockers, and could fall to possibly to pick 7-8. i now disaster, but, it could happen,

Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

wow, big calls.
so wrong.

I doubt Natianui will last that long
Let me just state I am far from an expert on the kids in the draft so instead of just going with the majority I thought I would go out on a limb with some picks. Afterall how often does the draft actually pan out the way all the Mock Drafts pan out. More often than not there is a bolter who comes in and messes things up.

Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

that looks good, fremantle will not take a big bloke early they willget the best midfielders they can, if hurley dosn't go to port, essendon will get him, i think natanui would fit nicely into port adelaides future for a kleading tap ruckmen, but my gut feeling says they will grab hurley

Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

FWIW:
1. Melb - Watts
2. WC - Rich
3. Freo - Hartlett
4. Port - Hurley
5. Essendon - Ziebell
6. Carlton - Natianui
7. Brisbane - Vickery
8. Richmond - Johnstone

No chance NicNat will fall to pick 6

Will probably be pick 3

Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

Not sure Watts should be a lock for pick 1 myself. You'd have to be worried about his form since champs. I wouldn't rule out Rich for Melbourne at all.

Rich hasn't reached any great heights this year either though.

Agreed but it's not his skill sets that I question. Watts still has plenty of questions about him that need to be answered IMO. Rich just has the look of someone who has had his name in lights for so long that he's just biding his time until he gets to play with the big boys. Rich has already shown well before this year that he's got the tools.

Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

seen a bit of hartlett would love to get him we need a gun midfielder and i reckon he will be one

There are still big questions about Rich though. Very lazy footballer at this stage.

It will either be Watts or Nico at #1. Can see Schwab making a big hoopla about both.

I agree in that he's looked a bit lazy this season. I don't believe that he was last year. As I said before I reckon he's just filling in time this year, he's ready for the bigger challenge.

With absolute respect, I do not understand this 'lazy' label that has been applied to Rich.

I've tried hard to spot it in recent weeks, but I really can't. I love the way he plays his footy.

Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

If Tom Swift goes beyond pick 20 [and his knee holds], he'll be the steal of the century. Or close to it.

Hell Yeah,

Doubt it would happen

Re: 1st 8 Picks Set in Stone - Top 8 Pick Mock

all i want to happen is for the big five kids (watts, rich, naitanui, ziebell, hurley) no to get picked in the first 5 picks. meaning a hartlett, vickery or whoever it may be get picked in the top 5 picks. meaning carlton get one of my big five players (no chance in getting watts, rich or naitanui so will either get ziebell or hurley!)

hope that is understandable.

It's just that everytime I see him in the flesh, he turns into an almighty sheep dog, hanging out the back of packs for easy kicks and doesn't run.

Which is why he can't shake a tag.

He does not waste the ball at all though.

Would be interesting to see how he goes in a team not as dominant as Subi, where he has to win much more of the ball himself.

Definitely needs to work harder to be more effective in open play.

Would definitely love him at Freo though. Would be very handy alongside Ibbo, as there are some good in and under players developing.
