Im more interested in what you will do if Lyons plays less games than Barlow, which I think is far more likely.

It's not hard to bet on an odds-on favourite.

I was simply asking Vader to quantify what would make Lyons a genuine AFL footballer. Clearly playing 22 games last season for a top 6 team with bugger all injuries didn't measure up to his standard. Vader and others have consistently said that Lyons is not up to AFL standard. I have never suggested that he is a star in the making but I do believe he had more to offer than several first choice Crows in recent years (van Berlo, Mackay and more recently Douglas). He is not a half forward and we had to either play him as a full time inside mid or trade him. With the development of Matty Crouch I doubt if he would have been selected as one of our 4 main inside mids (last year they were Thommo, Crouch X 2 and Sloane).

I also don't believe CEY is the answer although he could get a game in some of the lower teams. I wait with great anticipation to see who our 4 key inside mids will be in Round 1 next year.

Given that we have unspent Gibbs money next season, if Barlow chose GC over AFC for money, we must still have a plan for the Gibbs money, perhaps putting it in the bank for an import after next season.
It's Fyfe.

You heard it here first, well not so first, but close to.

Or we didn't need him. Especially for what he demanded.
Don't really see how you can say 'especially for what he demanded' without having any idea of what GC put on the table for him/what he'd have been asking for Adelaide to demand.

For all we know he thought his opportunity to play at GC was better or just preferred the option of living in QLD over SA.

Seriously, we been saying this shit since Tippet left

If we were willing to trade Gibbs in, it has to exist. Whether it will ever be used is another question.

I'm not sure I understand this sort of reasoning?

If we have money available to spend - we spend it on our existing contracts - and we develop a bank for later on. The cap spend and the actual spend are not the same right? Factor in planned front loading and you can get quite the nest egg to throw at a player if the opportunity arises.

Or am I misreading the system?

I'm not saying we are conservative but I understand that we have put the money into a 30 year Swiss Government Bond (paying zero interest).

We'll be locked and loaded for 2046!

No Barlow, No Adelaide.
Our whole year is over. Let's give up.
No one knows what they're doing at AFC. Why are they even getting paid? They can't even bring over an overrated plodder who was delisted to our club.

Firrito? Absolutely not in a million years, never never never ever would I want him anywhere near my team. I'd rather go into next season 15 players short than sign Firrito

Just to save WW and co from yelling '' WE'RE NOT GETTING FYFE FFS '':mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Very meh about this whole situation. He probably would've improved us slightly if his body held up, but hopefully now we have to back some younger guys in.

Im not a sceptic who thinks Thommo will play most of the year next year so to me its exciting. It does leave the midfield a bit light on for experienced, bigger bodies but if we get a different, more dynamic look through there its only a positive.
