I'd agree, but the tribby have backed themsleves into a corner. Gehrig's was a travesty and they've made a bit of a comeback but I think they'll give gardiner a week in solitary (That's Gardiner speak).

All he really did was do what Johnson did but went a bit far. Not suspendible in my view but I thinl they'l ahve to give that a week.

C'mon, the story I head was that gardy was expelled from his school for stealing an exam...hardly the work of a meek follower. A punch like that is pointless at any stage (and hardly going to hurt the bloke), let alone when your 40 points up and the ump is 2m away staring straight at you. Good footy skills - pity there's nothing between the ears.

Thats the thing, he wasn't thinking. I was sitting at that end of the ground and as soon as I saw Gardy go up to where Johnson and Nicoski were (right next to the umpire) I knew he was going to do somethig stupid

Johnson did it twice right in front of the umpire and he does nothing. Then pays the Gardiner one. The umps were hopeless last night - they lost total control of the game in the 3rd quarter.

I think the competition is a bit over Brisbane's niggling punching wannabe tough guy routine. It's old hat.
