You've made me crave a lamb wrap from Zeus. So good made with pita. The chicken hades is great too.

Respected at the club, knows the players and staff and fills a need. Seems like a no brainer.

A plug and play key defender is obviously the priority in case Moore or Frampton go down. I’m now leaning toward Glover purely due to the fact he is already embedded in our system, would much rather him in the team than Dean. 6 month contract really is a no brainer.

Glover deserves a chance ahead of recycled others from other clubs. He's well respected and has really found his niche as a defender and leader onfield. He could play straight away if needed and he's a safe, reliable commodity.
The fact he's a beautiful left footed kick is just a bonus that we could use out of defence.

1. Overlooked 18-19 year olds
2. VFL players waiting for an opportunity
Not too often you clubs go with older ex afl players, so it'll be interesting to see our tactic

I liked the guy but still not keen on getting him back.

I agree with this, I'd be happy if we decided to give Glover a 6 month contract because he knows our structures. Same with Kreuger if he keeps up his form and stays injury free, because of him knowing our structures and making it easier to make an impact of required.

I'm with you, but might depend on whether they think they can get a recruit up to speed and executing a role in our defensive system before the end of the season.

I think he's just too old - He's 29 in December, so you don't get a significant opportunity to benefit from him. Unless they were really looking at it like he's a 6 month injury replacement for Reef and then he moves on, I'm not sure I see it. And even then, he's not really a fit for the role they wanted Reef to play as that stay at home, shut down defender.

Charlie McCartin is 2 years younger, for comparison, and the upside is probably slightly higher due to lack of exposure at the top level and the family pedigree.

Someone like Will Hoare, who I remember hearing loosely mentioned in relation to us around draft time last year, is 197cm and only 24.

Then there's Fraser Rosman (23yo) who's been playing well for Port Melbourne in the VFL and being coached by Brendan McCartney, who was working at Collingwood last year and would obviously give us the scoop.

I just don't think it's as obvious as picking up our 28 year old VFL captain who's been observed for YEARS by us and not ever previously deemed to be at the level.

This coupled with his inability to stay fit suggests he isn’t a good pick up.

I think they’ll go best available and won’t be fussed if it’s 6 or 18 months with the focus being longer term potential. Lots of kids got overlooked in the draft last year and a few of them would have been on our radar.
