so here is the list of players available in the mini-draft:

Chase Bower (Norwood, SA), Adam Carter (South Fremantle, WA), Brad Crouch (North Ballarat Rebels, Vic), Dayle Garlett (Swan Districts, WA), Brodie Grundy (Sturt, SA), Matthew Haynes (Northern Knights, Vic), Riley Hutchinson (East Perth, WA), Emmanuel Irra (South Adelaide, SA), Ben Kennedy (Glenelg, SA), Aaron Loccon (Norwood, SA), Sean Lynch (South Fremantle, WA), Todd McKay (South Adelaide, SA), Jaeger O'Meara (Dongara/ Railways, WA), Jonathan O'Rourke (Calder Cannons, Vic), Jason Pongracic (Dandenong Stingrays, Vic), Mason Shaw (South Fremantle, WA), Josh Simpson (North Adelaide, SA), Jake Stringer (Bendigo Pioneers, Vic), Shannon Taylor (Claremont, WA), Jimmy Toumpas (Woodville West Torrens, SA), Nick Vlastuin (Northern Knights, Vic), Matt Wallis (Norwood, SA), Laine Wilkins (Peel Thunder, WA), Daniel Williamson (Norwood, SA), Christopher Yarran (Perth, WA).

I personally only know a bit about 2 players, and that is jaeger omeara, and i coached laine wilkins as a junior. Wilkins is a running wingman with good size and excellent disposal. he also has a massive leap, i played one on one with him in basketball when he was 15 and he dunked it on me :o.
he would be a good get, but im not sure we need another wingman/halfback flanker given the fact that we have pitt (who will be a star) and hilly (who is a star) ontop of our other players.

does anyone know much about the others? are any of these guys KPP? is there anyone else there we could chase if we fail to get the number one pick?

cheers

paul bower will be up for trade or maybee hell juz go into draft and nominate freo a true gladiator

I'd like Adam Carter on our list. He's a back pocket type and we need a shut down small defender but we need one now i.e. next year and whether he'd be ready next year would be doubtful but others would know more.

haha i have a feeling i know who you are :D and if im right, get him to nominate freo, we need backmen and he would fit in well :thumbsu: by the way colin tha proctor says hi ;)....

if yuor not who i think you are, carry on :)

Any thoughts on his value pick/player wise KPR?

at this stage i would have thought in the 40's at a guess, its hard to say. he has been playing well at peel, and has all the attributes to be a good afl player, id think that if we were to have the last pick in the mini draft, he would still be there. as far as kids that i coached and coached against he was easily the standout. comes from a good family, and is just a genuinely nice kid

obviously colins steading influence

hahaha, good enough :thumbsu: hope all is well, i know colins relatives are less tough and gladitorial, but they are gettin by.

i think paul would fit right in at freo given mcpharlin and grover are almost at the old folks home :thumbsu:

I would speculate Crows will trade back the Davis compo to try and get Kennedy, which almost becomes a like-for-like deal. At least that seems to make sense. That and Jaeger takes 2 of the picks away.

If I was Giants I would look to tarde at least 3 this year, and try to get a compo pick and a serviceable player. Stockpile the compo until the following draft (with reportedly great depth and talent), and get a mid tier player (Bradley, Anthony, Crowley - not really intended as serious suggestions) to provide grunt for a few years.

Like for like? Talent maybe but Kennedy is a midget small forward

does anyone know much about the other WA boys? seen them play?
My brother played Claremont Colts footy with Shannon Taylor and reckons he's an absolute freak and will be a jet. Not a bad testimonial from someone who played with him.. Interestingly enough I don't see my bro's name on the 17y/o's list.. He is eligible. :p

No chance, haha.

Is Paul over his injuries? We need defenders and the very few games I've seen him play he's been okay. How old is he now?

paul has had quad injuries this year, but other than the unlucky broken colar bone and a miniscus tear in his knee his body is fine. He is 23 or 24 now, just coming into the prime of his career. he is being played as a running backman at the moment, and the blues specifically havent bulked him up because they dont want him to lose his pace as he is quite quick. Standing next to him he is a BIG boy, and with a little more weight could easily become an AFL standard CHB. Dont forget he was u18's AA CHB. If we could get him to our club it would be huge, given our KPP stocks, but not only because of his abilities, but he is just a quality bloke, which is something that all clubs need. We may be able to nab him in the PSD , which would be unbelievably good
