Hows he going everyone? Has he recovered from his injuries? Bulked up or anything? Will he see any AFl game time this year?

I don't actually get to see him, but if I can paraphrase P.O's recent thread on a similar theme, Brown (& Drum) is expected to complete his first full pre-season, barring injury, and will be given some game time through the year.

Given he's had a broken leg and a shoulder injury over the last 12 (?) months, you'd be forgiven for presuming he hasn't bulked up too much in the weight room, but he's got the chance to start doing so now over the pre-season. At 196cm and only 85kg, he'd want to!

I look forward to watching him play. There's a big wrap on him, but he's had little game-time, and his propensity for injury is a worry.

What I said Ammo is that I give him no chance of being a regular player all year, and I stand by that. It's just not realistic given his injuries IMO. If i had to guess a number I'd say he'll play 6 or 7 senior games this year.

Balme said he'll be starting pre season along with all the players which is great, although he probably won't be able to do a lot of weights because of the shoulder, so it'll take him a while to bulk up, which he needs to do.

Can I suggest you've softened your position on Mitch a tad, PO. You were quite downbeat about his chances of doing much at senior level due to his frame and the rehab from the shoulder. It was only when Balmey came out saying how he'd be able to do a solid pre-season that you moved your position - which is fair enough. Seven games from around mid season on would make him awfully close to a regular in my book. Anyhooo, let's hope his injury woes are behind him cos I'd lurve to see a side with Tomahawk and Brown in the key forward possies this year.

I watched him play a pre-season in his first year, he looked great, ran with the flight as if it was nothing.
Just concerns me, after all his injury woes, will he be the same?

You couldn't blame him if he curtailed his heroics some what.
But, yeah, I was devastated for him and the club when he broke the leg.
Lets hope all that's behind from now on.

He's been unlucky with injuries.

He's recovered well from the nasty broken leg he copped, and as far as his shoulder goes, injuries like that have happened to much bigger guys than Mitch when you get crunched in a pack like he did.

My understanding with his shoulder is that it wasn't a serious problem and the club decided to take a no risk policy with him as it was late in the season and the VFL lads weren't going to play finals.

I saw 4 or 5 of his games this year and everything i've seen suggests to me he's going to be a very very good player. Has one of the strongest pairs of hands i've seen at any level, and that alone will see him go a long way. His movement and agility also haven't been affected by his leg injury, so that too bodes well for the future.
