MLB 2017 SEASON

I was in Vegas in 2004 when the Red Sox won. I watched the last inning at Le Bar du Sport in Paris casino. I walked through the sports bars at a number of casinos that day and each was absolutely packed. Vegas was really popping after the win.

I was at home in 2005 when the White Sox won. I gave my late father's rocking chair a push at the final out. He had been a lifelong Sox fan but died 14 months before the WS win. My mum, a lifelong Cubs fan, passed away last year, four months before the Cubs win. They were 80 and 90 respectively when they died and never saw their teams win a World Series. That's why I consider myself so lucky to have experienced Oct 1 and Nov 2 last year.

Was talking about that innings at the time. Had done a fantastic job allowing only 1 hot through 5 innings but fell apart for him in the 6th. Barnes first up he gave away a single, hits Utley and then follows up with a double to Taylor and sac fly to Seager. Perhaps a bit of fatigue from a long season but he just didn’t hold his nerves in the 6th. As you said though it would of been nice to see the Astros offence turn up today. I genuinely don’t know who will prevail tomorrow but got a suspicion Kershaw might be in the rotation, maybe Dervish to start and go through 4 or 5?
McCullers to start with Morton and Keuchel to pitch in relief.

It’s one of the most special things to experience your favourite team winning, especially ending an overly long drought. I am sorry that your parents didn’t experience it first hand but I am sure they were smiling down from heaven.

I watched the final out last year with my Mum, actually we saw Carl Edwards giving up the RBI together and then being taken out for Montgomery. I was telling my Mum, who has never watched a Baseball game in her life, anecdotes throughout the year and that the Cubs hadn’t won in 108 years and although Baseball is hard it looked like it could turn out to be a special year. Almost every day from April until November I told my Mum what was happening and my Mum was excited for me and the Cubs. We won the NLDS, NLCS, 3-1 down in the World Series and my mum was so calming. She told me that win or lose to be proud of the Cubs achievements and not to give up hope at 3-1 down because they’re very, very good. How I watched last years final out is something I would never do differently if I had that time over.

Good luck to the Dodgers today. I'm going out to have lunch with a friend so won't be able to watch it. I'll have to be rude and check the scores on my phone. Maybe we can just go to Maccas and I can get home before the last out. :D

It was just meant to be.
2016 was it's own animal entirely sporting-wise.
We'll never see a sporting year like that again EVER , i want espn to do a 30 for 30 on it eventually , another 5 parter like OJ's

I can’t wait until Ken Burns does inning 11 of his Baseball series and he covers the Cubs in it. It goes by decade (except inning 1 which covered 1840 to 1899), so 2020 at the earliest is when/if it happens. I’d recommend the series to any Baseball fan. Excellent watch.

I called it that Springer would hit a bomb there and he did, can't remember it actually working in the past, how sweet.

Go boys.

So surely Springer wins M.V.P If Astros win has to be a big chance if Dodgers come back and win the series.

The $41 I got on him when they were down 3-2 to the Yankees sure hopes so

You’re in for a good payday if the Astros hold on to win. George Springer is the most likely MVP from either side.
