Just saw that Mooney has accepted his one match suspension, leaving us without him for the Bulldogs clash. This will make it a hard one to win, especially with their lack of KPP to take him. Looks like Playfair will be coming back. A forward line of McCarthy, Playfair and Mackie. How bout we throw Gardiner in there just for good measure. Shudder.

Mackie will be dropped and I doubt Playfair will be in unless he's doing something good in the 2's.

Don't be suprised if we see Kent bob up, Bomber loves him.

Dam!!!!

Always knew it would be at least 1 week. To late and to far away from the ball.

Mackie must be dropped. Has NA showed any form in the VFL the last few weeks to warrent a come back or is KK next in line?

i thnk KK and SJ will come in for mooney and mackie otherwise kelly can go in instead of mackei.
dont worry about it moon dog, ur still a champion in my book  , atleast he isnt getting rubbed out every other week, hes done alot for the club this year and hes stood up when it counted. hes controlled himself and thats fine by me, pitty its against the doggies, we coulrd have really used him in that game

i agree with u bashar..lMooney would've been useful in this weekends game.

Johhno and Kelly in, Mackie and Mooney out. Not so sure about Kingsley, but we'll see.

Lets not forget that the Doggies are missing a fair few key players so it should be a fairly even match. Go Cats.

Moonies achilles heel is that he does silly things when he shouldn't and now we face a top 4 side without our best player/competitor. This is very dissapointing for the team. I say we should bring in Blake and Dog. Leave Ottens at CHF, have blake and King rotate the ruck. Play to our strengths and not make the mistake we did earlier this year by trying to play to the bulldogs game plan. I don't think we need to panic and go all small and quick.

Bomber was at the VFL match and shaking his head at Kent's laziness.

to be honest, i can see kent being kepted on the list next year.. let someone like mccarthy that trys week in and week out take his place.. i would rather see someone that trys his heart out then someone that is a pretend hack..

No need for H to return.

1. His form doesn't warrant it.
2. Our team setup shouldn't demand it.

Don't be surprised if it is H. He has been an emergency over the past few weeks and Mooney leaves a hole at CHF that few players on our list can fill. H is the next best option we have at the moment. McCarthy is a worry when he gets more than 20m away from goal, Ottens isn't mobile enough, Kent can't mark above his head and Lonergan is, well, Lonergan!

Ottens cannot play CHF, not mobile enough. Need Henry or another to line up there.

We had pretty much a starting AFL forward line up in the magoos on the weekend didn't we (to an extent)?

Ablett
Johnson
Playfair
Kingsley
Gardiner
Lonergan

All played seniors this year.

And if I'm correct, the whole side kicked 2 between them.

Wat a good sign, lets get Hawkins in now. Even though i heard he was terrible against XC.

Let's not forget the horrible conditions they played in.

That was very ignorant!

Well, that's a real shame, as he would have been ideally suited at CHF against the Dogs. I think H should come in as a replacement, even though he is not going to be the perfect replacement, we need a target up there who is going to have a height and weight advantage over the smaller doggies defenders. It doesn't seem like his form has been amazing but ya never know, this might be his week. I think if there were any game where H could return and play a significant role then this would be it.

Should we replace Mooney with a tall?

We are already looking too tall in the backline against the dogs with Scarlett, Harley and Egan. Maybe one of these guys could play forward and Kelly or Riccardi could come in for Mooney.

I know, but seriously, 6 AFL listed players in a forward line up against the Carlton VFL side's defence and didn't manage a goal between them.

Imagine watching Kent, McCarthy and Playfair on the same forward line. Boundary umpires would be earning their money.

Byrnes got one.

Carlton's VFL side is also the top team at the moment. Just because it's Carlton doesn't mean they're crap.

Excuse me? 6 AFL LISTED PLAYERS! I know, the Bullants are top, but seriously - I'd be expecting to kick a bagful between them at AFL level, let alone at VFL level.

Then again, it was wet and muddy, so Kent would have wanted to come off with a pristine jumper as usual.

I don't know, I'm expecting that the conditions were shocking. It's not like they were playing on a ground like Skilled Stadium or TD either.
