This is the match-up i want to see for a good part of the match (with Moran given the odd stint up forward if none of the other options are doing the job).
I must admit when Rutten was looking shaky up till half time, and Bock was servicable but not brilliant up forward, i was calling for the switch. Craig though produced the masterstroke by sending Bock back, not to Fev, but to the CHB to improve our overall structure in defence. Worked a treat
(credit to Rutten for a gutsy mid-game comeback)
Now, Richo is a unique beast. Tall, quick, amazing mark, huge engine, starts up the ground then goes deep and so on over the course of a game. I am just not sure if Rutten is the guy for him, and it may be hard to keep match-ups right if we try to keeping swapping a defender and midfielder depending on where he goes to. As alluded to in the previous paragraph, Bock should probably stay at CHB unless a desperate situation calls for a change (this may become that very situation!!).
Therefore, I'd love to see Moran get the gig. Keeps our structure intact. He is the only athletic match we have. If he fails, then it's back to Bock, Rutten or Stevens (I know Stevens did well on Goodes for a good amount of the Sydney match, so will possibly be the man this week but Goodes was injured and i reckon Moran a far better match-up).
Tippett to come in if this plan eventuates.
Worth a shot?
If not would you rather Bock, Rutten, Stevens, or a defender/midfielder combo (ala what we did with Franklin in 4thQ of the Hawks game).
