Always loved Brent Reilly, feel he is unfairly criticised. Tippett, Otten, Dangerfield and Jarrhan Jacky, I still believe he will be a gem!
But my "most favourite" of all time is Bunji, watching him play has been a blessing. The way he moved in his prime, he just made everything look so easy. Football won't be the same for me without him on the field.

Past- Roo
Present- Goody
Future - Tippett, Danger, McKay, Walker, Otten, Davis, Armstrong, Smack etc. etc. etc.

Bernie Vince by the length of the straight.

Has a little bit of Holywood about him, but then gets down and dirty in amongst the rough stuff too.

I think he is also a throw back from a bygone era when boys from the bush used to come down to the city and try their luck...almost like the "Big Men Fly" movie/tv series which was based around such a character. For those of us who can remember those days there is some real romance attached to Bernie's story...not just the usual U/18 factory product.

Its a wonderful story and is testament to being able to make it if you want it badly enough, no matter where you come from.

My favourite players for the crows are:

Darren Jarman- one of the best natural footballers i've seen

Andrew McLeod - in his prime untouchable

Ben Hart - brilliant defender, so composed

Nathan Basset - had to play on giant forward when he started, didn't complain, one of the most courageous i've seen and all heart and soul.

Tyson Edwards- Basically the perfect footballer, never plays a bad game

Mark Riccituo- Love his attack on the ball and his hardness

Tony Modra- What kid didn't love the flashy FF when they were growing up

If I was going to go out and buy a crows jumper today, I would get no.18 on the back. For some reason I love watching Johncock play footy!

Oh and as for the question it's hard to see anyone top Godra in my esteem.

Of the current crop Tippett and Danger are my stand outs.

Bassett's dummy spits were hilarious, i love it. Even when we played Geelong in 2008 and him and Bock were having a go at each other for a goal that should have got touched on the line, pure passion.

Tyson has been incredibly good for us. Racks up the touches, disposes beautifully on both sides, works hard defensively, kicks goals, just a fantastic player for us. Better than Goodwin for me and Goodwin has been damn good too.

Agree all round. I have a lot of respect for Goodwin as well. Bassett used to give away an obvious free kick and go nuts pleading his case. He was always innocent. Great value for the spectator. Passionate and dedicated.

Early days –Mathew Liptak

Premiership years – Mark Ricciuto

Current player – Danger but Bernie and Tex are running at a very close second and third.

Oh how I despise tautologies.
Mackay is very unique though;)
FWIW I was raised a pedant, and everytime I read something as illiterate as most favourite I die a little.

Perhaps the aim of posting to this board is not attempt to belittle those who chose common language to share thoughts. You are indeed correct; but pedantism has no place in social engagements as it will not earn you many friends.

Cervantes phrased it perfectly; "Do but take care to express yourself in a plain, easy Manner, in well-chosen, significant and decent Terms, and to give a harmonious and pleasing Turn to your Periods: study to explain your Thoughts, and set them in the truest Light, labouring as much as possible, not to leave them dark nor intricate, but clear and intelligible."

Jo172 we do barrack for the same team, but we are not a bunch of illiterate hoods and hopefully we are not a bunch of nosed up turned snobs.

Pedantry;)

And notice how a few posts later I contributed to the discussion meaningfully.

I choose not to participate in the destruction of the English language wherever possible and encourage others to do the same. Sorry if that offends.

Whoops, started a sentence with 'And'

FWIW, i too am a pedant, and it irks me so to see postings in which the grammar and spelling are so poor it becomes difficult to infer the point being raised. As a wise old printer told me, "Too many people now think Spelling is the girl from 90210 and Grammar is the person who buys you socks for Xmas".;)

Ricciuto - His leadership and courage was sensational, it was so hard to see him go
McLeod - Was unstoppable at his peak, is slowing down but he will always be one of my favourites
Modra- His high flying marks brought people to games. One of the most exciting forwards to watch
D. Jarman - A sensational footballer who guided us to two flags
Hart - Composed defender, really liked him as a player

Vince - Improving every year, will be a superstar
Tippett - I'm so happy he won't go to the Gold Coast. Key to a premiership, super talented forward, love his strong marking and second efforts.
Dangerfield - Is this kid going to be a star or what?

Gold.

You missed a full stop after 'And', and you didn't capitalise the "I" after FWIW. So much for being pedant, joker.
