Well you didn't miss much, but my advice would be to set yourself up for 2005. We'll love to know that as the Crows return to form, there'll be a Nikki on the other side of the world lapping it up.NikkiNoo said:i haven't seen too many games from last year (only 3 actually) and only over dvd so it is hard for me to say who should improve - but by all accounts macca has had a bad year and to me it is very important that his form improves in order for the team to play better footy.

NikkiNoo said:I will be back for 2 games - west coast and port so I can see them live but the problem is the stupid fricking afl site that is total crap for $50 a year - their video is tiny and you can't see a thing and more often than not the radio stream did not work or was linked to the wrong game (plus telstra's non-help desk was never manned on the weekends to fix their problems) But am preparing myself for early morning starts to login to bigfooty to get score updates this year![]()

I know they telecasted the game of the week on 5 I think it was down in London, not sure if they do it up north.

A nomination maybe but we all know to order to win the actual rising star award you have to play for a victorian clubjc67 said:By the sounds of it Van Berlo might take the rising star award also![]()

NikkiNoo said:That's if the judges actually watch more than 2 crows games a year (like woosha reputably only did) he may be a chance as long as his footballing ability matches his athletic ability
macca23 said:Will be interesting to watch him under match conditions.
Apart from his aerobic abilities, he has beautiful balance, great ball skills and an immaculate kick. His footpassing is a treat.
You watch him and you can't believe that he's just been drafted. He stands out on the track and in the drills.
He needs a few more kilos on him, but I have no hesitation in saying that IMO we have snared a beauty in this lad.
Fergus, who posts on this board, had a look at training on Monday, and he was raving about him even more than me, comparing him to a young Simon Black.
I think he'll play a few games towards the end of this year, after establishing himself at SANFL level.

. Maybe a future captain. He captained his colts team and I think WA as well. Haven't seen Fergus around for a whileI don't know about that. He could well play the entire year for the Crows coming off the bench. From all the reports he has been sensational both in running drills and football training. I am almost certain he will play in the Wizard Cup. If he impresses there he could easily make the 22 for round 1 and from there anything is possible.macca23 said:I think he'll play a few games towards the end of this year, after establishing himself at SANFL level.

not getting a little in front of ourselves here???Like your namesake if he's good enough play him off the bench during the year - but lets see him in the Wizard Cup b4 annointing himthe second messiahI don't know about that. Having said that I would like him to spend a year in SANFL and get a couple of AFL games towards the end of the year.
Yes Nye possibly, maybe young Andrews???Craig said there is a couple who could play in the Wizard Cup. We all know Van Berlo is one of them but who is the other. Meesen or Nye??????
Not really. Don't have high expectations just saying that in his junior career he has obviously shown leadership qualities which we lack as a football team.Wayne's-World said:not getting a little in front of ourselves here???

Craig said of the new draftees so I don't know if Andrews is classified as that. Could Hinge be the smokie because appareantly he has the built for AFL footyWayne's-World said:Yes Nye possibly, maybe young Andrews???

West AdelaideHalf the state U18s were team capt's or VC of their local clubs so not surprising that a major share of draftees have had leadership responsibilities.Stiffy_18 said:Not really. Correct

West AdelaideWho was a fine player and played in a couple of premierships if memory serves me.macca23 said:By the way Fergus said that Andrews still has that shocking kicking style rather reminiscent of Paul Northeast's.![]()
Wayne's-World said:Who was a fine player and played in a couple of premierships if memory serves me.
West AdelaideWas a HBF in John Cahill era so odds are that he got a few under his belt - ugly kick as you say but effective, generally hit there mark.macca23 said:He was an excellent player, and usually found a player with that ugly kicking style of his. Tough as tungsten and was deceptively quick, being a top competitive runner as a junior. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but a nice bloke.
I'm sure some Portonian would know, but I think he played in quite a few flags.
So it was a case of mistaken identity thenmacca23 said:By the way Fergus said that Andrews still has that shocking kicking style rather reminiscent of Paul Northeast's.![]()

West AdelaideI got confused (which is easyStiffy_18 said:So it was a case of mistaken identity then
I knew it must have been someone else. There are plenty of adjectives you could use to describe Rowan's kicking techinque and smooth is not one of them
) because Andrews was described as a stick and Maric was described as having a solid build.
