Swan as a forward is an insult. Played in the midfield all year, leads the comp in disposals, one of the Brownlow favorites, and the selectors basically say that he wouldn't be good enough to make it in the midfield with Judd, Bartel and Ablett. I thought AA was based on performance over the year, not past reputation.

Haxwell

I take it they don't show too many matches over in Japan? Has had a stellar year (after his suspension), and has been a stellar captain. Thoroughly deserves recognition, definitely more so than the likes of Fletcher and Mackie in the backline.

Bartel??!?!?!?!?!

More amazing is that he took Swan's midfield spot. Disgrace.

WTF is Dustbin doing in there?

Harry O has had a better year than Maxwell. 1 deserved to be in but.

Leaving the best CHB in the game in Bock is also staggering.

Watson should probably be in too, with either him or Swan taking Murphy's spot in the middle.

Seems I'm the exception. I'm very surprised Geelong has 8 players there and also the fact that Geelong, St Kilda and Collingwood supply more than half the squad.

Swan has a forward would have to be a close second.

Swan up forward and Goodwin down back. Silly if you ask me.

Milne, Fletcher and Buddy making the team....

1. Swan as a forward. Leading possession getter and brownlow favourite, yet they think he isn't good enough as a midfielder yet Bartel is there.

2. Milne, Mackie and Fletcher as inclusions

3. Watson and Bock excluded (Bock has missed out on a lot of footy but the same thing could be said about Johnson)

Darren Glass not even making the squad of 40. Had had a great year despite the eagles once again being a non-contender. Plays as a one-on-one defender which are a rarity in the game these days and still consistently defeats his opponents. Maybe not good enough to make the final team but to not even make the squad is a bit odd.

Maxwell= No Fisher, No Mitchell, No Duffield, No Drummond

And then theres Mackie, he has had a good season ^^^ all of those come before him this year though for a backline position.

No Black, No Watson, No Akermanis either.

Few missing in my mind.

Maxwell deserves his spot easily ahead of Fletcher and Mackie. Maxwell shouldn't be in the 22, but deserves squad selection.

The biggest surprises were Vince being in and Swan in the forwardline while Didak is in with the midfielders. If the two Collingwood players were swapped they would almost definately both be in, I don't see how Swan can be named as an AA forward, and Didak would be borderline as a midfielder.

For those who think Fletcher's inclusion is a surprise, who exactly plays his position better than him? How many defenders have opposition teams structure their forwardline around getting them away from the play?

Fletcher has been consistantly good for us this year and I am not surprised to see him there. No 2 in the comp for Rebound 50's, No 2 in the comp for 1%ers. Has a skill error rate of 0.8 per game - I went through all the players on the best bll user thread an the only other player I could find under 1.0 was Scarlett at 0.9

Drugs are bad for you!

So you think an average and aging loose man in defence deserves his spot in front of one of the most improved players on the comp, a tough player on the field, who reads the well and has played the loose defensive role beautifully for us ?

Fletcher might have a long kick and long arms, but was lucky to get in the long AA list. You might have a case for Watson. Flecther, no.
