All-Ireland...............care factor involved there mate. Clearly on outstanding reason to be underrated in the AFL.

No one rates Whitnall, Teague & Houlihan fool..........easy to name names..........how about an explanation as to why they are overrated in your opinion, other than because a Carlton supported mentioned a Roos player.

How can u say Hirdy is overated? He deserves whatever rating he gets! One of the few players in the league who can single handedly turn a match. Oh and did i mention hes a handy captain as well?

Handy captain that cries all the time and allows himself to get pushed around by the opposition?

Pshaw.

He's a good player, don't get me wrong and he'd certainly get a game for North, but he's not the all-time great like so many like to make him out to be. If he wasn't a nice, middle-class boy with that TO DIE FOR blonde hair, he'd be ranked below Martin Pike in the career achievement stakes.

He is anyway, IMO.

You'll be singing a different tune next year when it is Setanta who is preventing you falling off the bottom of the ladder.

Seriously, the fact that Tadgh changed from a very different sport (no matter what anyone says, GAA and Aussie Rules are very different) to playing a great season in a premiership year in the space of five years is a great achievement.

But i totally agree about ur views on Hirdy, great captain but I believe does not rate near guys like buckley and voss, he can change a game, but has a lot of luck as well like grabbing the ball and snapping it without lookin and it lands in a teammates hands, and the commentators make out that he executed it 2 perfection.

Hard worker, runs past the pack and draws the handball and a very good kick.
That is all. He has not won a hard ball since the 1992 Grand Final (playing for Port Magpies) and should not have won a Norm Smith medal.
Good player, yes.
Great player - no.

Admittedly, I am a North supporter but I think that if anything, Hale is under-rated by the meejya and opp. supporters. Opposition players and coaches certainly rate - they wouldn't have spent the second half of the year belting crap out of him if they didn't.

He is only young but has served his time like big blokes need to. He'll be putting on more meat for the next few years and toughening up but he has the height, skills (best set shot for goal by a big man playing right now) and a sensational football brain. Just gets into the right spots.

The only thing that can stop him is if he can't toughen up. Otherwise, he'll be a ten-year player for North and a very, very good one at that.

WHITNALL - Carrys too much weight and because of it is never in a position to use his good football brain.Every year we here he is going to turn it around and every year the same result.
TEAGUE - Basically has followed the same path he took at the Kangaroos.Great "one" season player.Obvious question on his pace and is not tall enough to play anywhere else.Good tryer but thats about it
HOULIHAN - This bloke has a tail that Ross Wilson would be proud of.Hangs out too much,Probably doesn't have the physique to go in hard but he is the only one that can change that.
FEVOLA - I'm not even gonig to bother with him.

Over rated - Quentin Lynch. Has the best midfield getting it down there and still can't kick goals, though i doubt anyone actually rates him.

Under rated - Marty Mattner.

Underrated: Edwards, Black, Waite, Burns, Hille, Schammer, Corey, Bateman, Harris, B. Miller ,D. Wakelin, Coughlan, Fisher, J. Bolton, Kerr, Cross

Overrated: Mcleod, Bradshaw, Fevola, Didak, D. Fletcher, Mcpharlin, Ling, Crawford, Motlop, Neitz, Tredera, Richardson, Gehrig, O'Keefe, Cousins, Smith

No way Ling is overrated. If anything, He doesn't get enough kudos for his impact to Geelong's centre. Hes very hard working, and very consistent. If you had to pick an overrated player in Geelong I'd pick Gary Jr. He's a gun, but not THAT much of a gun (yet). Actually I changed my mind. Stephen King, too injury prone, and too slow.

Most underrated? Daniel Bell would surely have to come close, as would Bassett or our own Joel Corey.
For the most overrated, I think far too many people put wraps on Daniel Harris for a 23 year old.

Overrated (at this stage) - Brendan Fevola (although he does have a stack of talent). Riewoldt, IMO, hasn't been as good as they all say.
