Frontline for equal consistency

Hard to find any others that maintained consistency

Most started well and then petered out

'Phoenix' on the ABC was excellent. Based on the Russell St. bombing. Very realistic,
downbeat feel to it. For me second only to 'Mr.Inbetween'.

Agree. Watched Phoenix when it first came out & thought it was brilliant, then rewatched it maybe 10 years ago & it had held up.

Another good one was Blue Murder which I keep meaning to rewatch.

Though I think I drifted away without finishing the last season from memory.

Agree, can’t think of any other locals in its league. Interesting that FX (in the US), were heavily involved with scripts and sign off. Not sure why we can’t get the magical formula right locally.

Mr Inbetween my personal favourite Aussie TV drama of all time too.

Am rewatching this. Just watched the Monsters episode.

This might be the best episode of television in TV history. First 5 minutes are laugh out loud funny (the spider episode), then it gets really dark.
I effing love this show.
