Was keen on County Tyrone last week after his Coongy run, thought he'd run a cheeky race at odds.
Then I saw the weights.

Baffled by how it can have 55 in a race where Rain Gauge has 56 & Sydney & Adelaide Cup winners (crap races that they are) have 57kg.
Honestly thought it would have about 52. This time in it's done bugger all.

Anyway,some early thoughts.

R1-Chester County-MV should suit.

R4-Helenus should run 2's on.

Cox Plate-will be watching on.

R8-Super race,Gentle Genius is bursting to win one of these,it'll be here or on Derby day.Rough hope to Self Interest.

R9-Royal Code E/W special.

Good luck
Seth.

Protest

What was your opinion of the protest?

Didn't have a bet in the race but must admit I was stunned it was dismissed,Prebble never stopped riding at any stage.

Seth.

Well done Seth!

A profitable day I can see!!!!

A mate of mine went to the Valley on Saturday and had Thong Classic into Northerly. $815 return from a $50 investment! Cripes if we added those two to yours the card has almost been tipped!

Cheers,
It's weird, over the years I've had 2 blinding Cox Plate days on the punt. Obviously Saturday & the year Almaraad won.
Never backed a loser either day.

Then there's been the other 20 or so which were non memorable punting wise, certainly not racing wise.

Can't explain Saturday, did the form Friday & refused to be talked out of it. Sure helps when the 1st one wins.

So,what about the protest???

Seth.

Flabergasted that it was dismissed to be honest!

Thong Classic moved out 4 or 5 Horses in the straight!

The Chief Steward had made the point that if Rain Gauge had got any closer at the finish then it may have been upheld. Official margin was only a neck, I think it was very very unlucky! As our racing journalist over here said it is close to impossible to pass a horse that is moving out in front of you unless your travelling at a speed much greater than the other!

I didnt expect to collect once I heard there was a protest and saw the Head On shot............ glad that I did in the end though!

I think these two horses may be the best Australian hopes in the Cup now.......... is Thong Classic running??????

heya sethlad guess who this is?! (think about the nickname)

Hey to everyone as well, as this is my first ever post on here.
Anyhoo as for that protest, i was absolutely amazed it was dismissed. Thong Classic was already lucky to get in with such a light weight, and then to top that off the stewards gave Prebble a license to do whatever he wanted. have they taken any action against him?

Oh well...it's no skin off my nose as I was on Thong Classic.

thong classic in the cup?

Oh by the way Davo, Thong Classic is 28th in the Order of Entry at the moment.
Surely it's gotta be a better chance than Kaapstad Way, which is 15th, and will probably end up getting scratched if the track is even slightly wet...
