My bad news

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Bernie don't give it a second thought. We all get stuck in on the Bay. You're a decent sparring partner but in any case there's absolutely no one on the Bay that owes me any kind of apology. As Paul Macartney said in the theme from one of the Bond movies "When you've got a job to do you've got to do it well....you've gotta give the other fella hell" and that's what we do over there. Myself included.

I really appreciate everyone's kind thoughts. This cyber world is remote from real life in some ways but we do get to know each other in a particular way here that becomes real over time. So thankyou.

Cheers mate.
See you on the Bay.:thumbsu:

All the best with everything mate I'm sure everyone on bigfooty is behind you (even those crows w***ers). One things for sure, it hasn't affected you posting quality :p :D

I take this is my cue.

Sorry to hear about this Toots, with these internet forums you kind of build up an image in your head as to what each poster is like in real life. My image of you is a tough uncompromising fighter who doesn't take crap and gives as good as he gets (even better sometimes). I am sure this will come in hadny over the next few years. Good look with your fight I am sure you will come out of this bigger and better (at Trolling us Crow w***ers).

Not much more to say than I hope to keep seeing your posts on BF for a long while yet.

Good luck, Toots.

Hmm, sorry to hear that Toots.

Lost my sister in law a few years ago (age 32) to cancer, and she lived her dream of seeing Port win the flag. She fought her arse off to survive and never gave in, and i fully expect you will do the same. Good luck mate.

From the sounds of your posts Toots, you appear to have won the mental battle.

Keep up the attitude and spirit and win the physical one as well.

All the best and keep posting - it's theraputic, particularly when we win, which will be more often than in the next few seasons.

Toots,

My very best wishes to you and your family and I sincerely hope you beat the Jack and get to grow old and see your children grow and have children of their own.

As has been mentioned previously in this thread your "cyberimage" is one of a fighter with a sense of humour and those qualities will be of much use to you in the coming months and years so best of luck and be strong.

If you ever need to come to Sydney for treatment or anything at all (even to watch the Mighty PAFC) you have a place to stay and RussellEbertHanball* and I will make sure you have company and just a few medicinal schooners to help you along.

All the very best.

* I haven't got hold of REH yet but I'm sure he wont mind me dobbing him in for a few beers.

Yep I'm in footyhead. A few lazy schooners (NSW ones) at the Watson's Bay pub enjoying the harbour on a sunny day would be on the cards Toots.

Not great news Toots and all the best.

On a side note, a story that may tickle your fancy - My receptionists boyfriend is the spitting image of Toots Hibbert (he's of islander extraction). The guy is quite musical and since I showed him your avatar stating that I'd found his long lost brother, he has actually become obsessed with Toots. Reckons he has the dulcet reggae tones of the Maytals on his Ipod, car etc on constant rotation for the last 3 months.

Chin up Tooty, your crap on bay 13 is legendary, even if you are a downhill skier (didn’t think you would get any sympathy did ya:D). Only kidding, keep smoking that joint (no pun intended unless it’s medicinal) and the jokers who patronise it, as i don’t care as i haven’t posted there for edges.

i don’t know what to say other than – ‘continue to do, what you know what to do’ and you will know what you have to do to feel healthy.

We had a cancer fight last year and missed a few games with different treatments, operations and R & R. I don’t know about you but at that point, footy doesn’t seem so important.

My thought and prayers are with you and your family.

Hang in there Toots like your team you will battle the odds and come through with flying colours.

The only thing i miss about bay 13 is the never ending losing battles i used to get in with you.

Like someone else said you are winning the mental battle which is half the battle.

Keep fighting my thoughts are with you and your family

It's great to read all these posts. (It'll be a little harder getting stuck into the Karparkstani's after this but I guess I can manage it. :thumbsu: )

Russ and footyhead if I can scam my way to Sydney I'll certainly be in touch beforehand and also look forward to catching up with you at Footy Park next time you're over.

Thanks everyone for your cheering words. They mean a lot. I'll know in around three months how things are progressing with my treatment. In the meantime I'll continue working hard at the gym and eating right. Will also be at work most days and enjoying life with my family and friends.

I also wish all the best to those of you who have loved ones who are touched by this thing and sympathy to those who have lost dear ones.

Terrible, terrible news. I wish you all the best toots. I enjoy reading your posts and I respect your opinions on these forums, I hope to keep reading them for a few more years yet.

I wish you all strength and good fortune with this Toots.

I just read it for the first time now, and while I don't know you personally, it's still a bit of a shock.

You've always come across a great bloke. If there's anything I can do to help at any time, small or large, let me know.

I am only an newbie at BF and have found reading your posts on here has given me better insight to our great club Port Adelaide and I thank you for that.

I hope that you overcome your battle to be with your family first and formost as well as providing more interesting posts.

I wish all the best Toots and hope that you stay positive in you battle...

Shocked, Toots!

I have had the pleasure it meeting you a couple of times and all I can say is that you are a top bloke.

All the best to you and your family, will be thinking of you mate.

Well I'm extremely sorry to hear that Toots, there may be major philosphical differences in our footballing outlooks but you are clearly a passionate South Australian which I respect enormously.

I have no doubt you will fight this thing with the same energy you spend bantering some points on the Bay, and I wish you the absolute best.:thumbsu:

Toots

If there’s beers happening in Sydney and you don’t include me I’ll be mightily pissed off.

Toots,

REH told me the news today and it I felt instantaneously dejected. It was rather a strange feeling seeing as I’m not sure I’ve ever even met you. I look forward to catching up with you in the flesh soon. If not in Sydney in round 9 (or Collingwood in round 10) then I’ll try to catch up with you at the oval near the Car Park where the Camry Crows train.

Keep fighting and I wish you all the best.
