Nab Cup 2010 Fixture: Dees vs Freo @ Subi

I'm usually not big on the NAB cup but if we pick the new kids i'll be pretty keen to get to this one. If we name any of Strauss, Blease, Bail, or any 2009 draftees I'm there.

I'd have to think we're favourites to win this one...

Melbourne ,the current wooden spooners are travelling all the way to W.A in late Febuary which happens to be the hottest part of the year in Perth...and your saying Melbourne will be favourites??? ummm o.k. :o

You know what the funny thing is? We may be the wooden spooners but we're better then you! And our premiership window will open before yours.. yours is sealed shut for the next 6-7 years I reckon until you finally learn how to recruit.

lol ;) whatever you say

I think it's safe to say we're a better team than you - what with the 10-goal thrashing and all ;)

And we got very close to WCE at Subi this year, notwithstanding our injury problems, so yeah, I think I would possibly have us favourites this time.

You're lucky we fell in a heap after that first quarter and a half against you at Subi in 2008 too...

Using your logic, there is no one with living memory of the last time West Coast defeated Fremantle at Subiaco (or anywhere else for that matter), so Melbourne's ability to only 'go close' to West Coast doesn't increase their chances of a win.

LOL - your logic-chopping greatly impresses me GreenRed :D

I guess what really clinches the argument regarding favouritism in the betting sphere is that old adage - NEVER bet on Freo in any fixture whatsoever :p

Oh dear :o

Well, it does kinda trump any other available argument - I mean, a naive person would've backed Freo to beat us at half-time during that match at the 'G in 2008, for instance!

But intelligent supporters know better ;)

:thumbsu: you fly that flag high
in a few months we'll see what you say
and besides it's a NAB cup game, you keep reffering to home and away games
the playing style of a NAB game is far more different than a H&A game

I would expect Freo (in principle) to be favourites with the bookies but you never know how over the top either coach could be with their selections/structure etc. The other factor is despite being scheduled for 17:40 local time, the heat could possibly be a factor in how the game is played and who is more suited. Too many variables at this stage but home ground advantage would be enough for the bookies you'd think.

If anyone thinks we are favourites they are kidding themselves.

Freo IIRC put out strong sides in the NAB Cup, I seriously doubt we'll win this.

Yeah, in all seriousness, you make a fair point there DS :)
