Glad he's likely going the traditional method.

He gets done mid Feb, six months it's mid August.

It's probably too late to consider playing, and risk of re-rupture may be a bit higher if he did, so they probably won't take the risk, but he's possibly not 100% done for the season.

Whether they look at that scenario may depend on other factors, eg success of his rehab, ladder position, further injuries to KPBs, or others eg Keefe not stepping up.

The greater likelihood is that we'll see Nate next year IMO.

Goldsack lost alot of weight from sickness over the summer, the last i heard was he lost 10kgs but recovered about 6kgs. how is he travelling at the minute? according to the cfc website hes at 88kgs

Tarrant is an upgrade on Presti IMO and not many even rated Brown till late in the season. We have not lost anything except depth. Our best 22 is the best in the league, as long as we dont get to many injuries.

Nice to see the Pies take the responsible approach and go for a full reco, instead of LARS.

As much as this sucks for you guys, you've got to pleased your club has the depth to provide genuine options.

Good to see the club taking the traditional route. Wonder how many years before someone takes the risk with a young star; atm it seems only to be second-stringers or guys at the back-end of their careers.

There is no way he'll go with LARS surgery.

LARS surgery is an option, and not a terribly good one, for 27-year-olds; not premiership winning 22-year-old KPPs.

Just sit back and wait for a media release saying he's decided to go with a "full" reconstruction, it's only a matter of time.

In TRS we trust!

A loss, absolutely. Tarrant (to guess), was to play the sub role, not the permanant defender role.

The sub role will not be used for 1 player only. It will no doubt be rotated under mick's horses for courses approach.

The beauty is, Tarrant is more than capable of being the #1 defender- after all he was on track to being the AA FB last season before being struck down by injury.

He will slot in just as nicely.

Another 14 months in the gym.... He will be an absolute monster when he returns!
GWS will rule him out now and probably go for his brother.

I feel for Brown more than I'm worried about our injury situation.

Brown didn't really play last year either, and if we make the GF this year, we won't be playing St.Kilda so Brown not being there doesn't technically affect us.

But the poor kid had JUST established himself as one of, if not THE top young full back in the competition after the number he did on Reiwoldt...twice.

It'll be 24 months before he's back to normal. Sucks big time.

Here he is today, starting rehab already.

Keep your head up Nate, you'll be back better then ever.:)

What is an icing machine.

Looks in good spirit's considering what just happen

I'd say the icing machine is used to bring down the inflammation after surgery, as with a 8-9 month recovery period, I don't think he will be using that machine every day.

Pretty sure he'll go for LARS... and all this garbage about how bad LARS is for you really should be backed up by facts and links. Sounds like alot of people trying to claim to be an authority on a topic they don't really know the facts on.
An authority... like being a practising physiotherapist?

Yeah, it's called Game Ready, it's a machine that simply combines ice and compression, lots of bells and whistles but doesn't actually do anything different per se... it simply allows you to program your dosages and makes it all very easy and comfortable which increases the patient's compliance with therapy. They're a good product, but really only professional sporting clubs can afford them!

Shitfull luck for the young bloke but he already comes through as a determined and mentally strong person. All the best for his recovery.

All the best for the recovery of the young star. Nobody likes to see young talent struck down, especially with an ACL. Taz will be an ideal replacement for the young man.
