Nathan Vardy

With respect, it doesn't really mean much if you were just crossing paths with the group at the time. Menzel would probably look fine in that situation too and we'd certainly be expecting to see Vardy on the park before Menzel.

Yeah I know mate, but I know from past experience that if you have a really sore groin then it affects the way you walk, sit down, get up, etc. hence why I said it doesn't seem a serious issue.

I'm guessing forming a sentence out of the words "Mark", "Thompson", "blind" and "loyalty" might help there. Cost us a flag too.

2008 or 2010?
Definitely 2008 IMO and maybe 2010 although the players should take some blame for that.

2008 for the Grand Final. 2010 for not selecting the younger guys in the finals and playing half fit veterans. Agree the players are out there, they have to share the blame.

Not just that but the whole refusal to change the game plan (albeit they were kinda correct, just not enough time).
But its all water under the bridge.
Now back to Vardy....... ummm......... hes a big lad isnt he...

Definitely Max Rooke in 2010 v Carlton at the MCG. Although 50% is being extremely generous.
yeah but 50% from Max is still 80% from mere mortals....

now where are my rose coloured glasses...

Go Catters

believe he did his knee in that final, not sure if it was the 2nd quarter or 3rd quarter but he couldn't get through the game properly so let's give him an excuse in that one.
Sydney he was excellent, not promising mate, 3 marks a goal and 10 hit-outs in his first game back for a year against the eventual premiers?
And he only played 3 quarters that game to manage him.

Poor choice of my words.. I should have said an underdone Vards but a fit one... - short on match practice but fit -

Go Catters
Short on match practice = UNFIT.
Hip, groin strain, injured = UNFIT
No preseason = UNFIT
No need to dress it up.

From a bit of personal experience, groin strains can be a bit of a rehab nightmare. It was once really not much more than rest. Has that changed VD?

Groin strains and VD???

Really depends on the exact diagnosis.
Groin strain could mean adductor tendon tear, partial tear, tendonopathy.
It sometimes is used in cases of OP, even hip joint conditions. They often coexist in both those conditions, where the adductors are tight, in spasm, when the hip has pathology, and in cases of OP.
I don't really use that term as a diagnosis, but in most cases it would refer to an adductor strain.

But as you have suggested, they can be a curse if all the components are not dealt with.

With the hairdo on Saturday night thought Vardy had the look of a sprightly Mark 'Jacko' Jackson. I'm not trying to be funny but it's genuinely who I thought of everytime he went for the ball. Had this menacing look about him. Next time throw in a few handstands for good measure.

The boy looked like a big jar head but far out he's such an exciting prospect. Vards and Hawkins in the same forward line is just so exciting. I'm not keen to push Pods while he's still got something to offer, but if Vards body stays intact, we have a very able CHF replacement.

The lad has put on some size and just loved his attack on the footy.
A future combo of Vardy and Hawk will be a fearsome proposition.
We're overdue for some luck on the injury recovery front so I hope Vards is in for a very long period of being available for selection - mouth watering thought :D

He looked SO powerful and confident. My Dad had a massive man crush happening, my Mum joked should she be worried? The fact he's now got Scarlo's 30 on made it feel that little bit more special, as if to say, the magic lives on.

and he's hardly at full fitness yet.
Also dropped some absolute sitters, if he stays fit and healthy, upside heading into finals is the difference between us winning a flag or not.

Not that we're putting any pressure on the young gentleman. :D

I fear Hawkins may not re-capture that form of last year though, Vardy gives us that if fit.

Hopefully Hawkins starts jumping and running as he was by September :thumbsu:
