Love this game, haven't really played many from the sports genre before but I would recommend. So much to do, and a helluva a lot for me to improve on, haha.
 
Bought this on the weekend. Love the way the game is presented. My shooting sucks though. Averaging 41% fg in my first three matches. Cant sink enough points in the paint.

hate it too, but it's better then having a score of. 500-60

it forces you to weigh the shot/play up


my main qualm is the reach-in ratio. seems any steal attempt is called on you, but never called the other way

AI is great, if you miss too many shots your teammates begin ignoring your leads, and they go to you often when your on a roll

the fact that's the main issue is a testament to the 2k franchise

hands up on defence (left stick on ps3) basically give you "good defence" each time

height of release on shots (when the circle flashes)

sprint toward hoop after opponent shoots to get a few easy transition dunks (modifier + shot)

run through open lane to draw fouls



any help with play-calls on my player? still can't figure it out
 
Turn automatic play-calling off if you want to play a high-tempo game style. The amount of times I've been on a fast break only to have my four CPU teammates pull up and go to their assigned positions is so frustrating.

The only reason I still have it turned on is so I can learn the good plays to run before switching it off forever.
 
Seems like a lot of you guys just recently got the game and some of you are new to the 2k series or just havn't played a bball game for a while. There is also the training camp feature which is great in showing you a lot of the new controls.

Yeah. The last bball game I played before this one was NBA2k and NBA Live 99!!!

EDIT: THe most annoying part for me is that at least 3 times in each game ive played, an AI teammate has darted in front of me which has knocked the ball away, like its bounced of the teammates arse and bounced directly to an opponent who runs on an dunks. Very. Annoying.

I have it off, but it doesn't allow me to call a play, even getting teammates to cut to the basket is a nightmare (nearly running out of bounds before they will lead) all my assists come off passes to the centre parked in the lane

I get the same thing happening - think I'm in the clear a couple metres from the nearest opponent - then a teammate knocks the ball to the floor and a moment the later the other team slam dunks. Which then causes my grade to drop to a D or something ridiculous.

My teammates are probably doing it deliberately because I badmouth them in every one of the post game interviews :D

it lets me select the player, but from there it won't list plays, not that it's a big issue, but it would be nice to get players running to space as opposed to being sitting ducks

The hop step is still as powerful as it was in 2k11. That's my main go-to.

It's almost impossible to break down your opponent to drive into the lane. I've had centers guarding me and can't break them down.
 
Canned my association game to do My Player. Love it. Though I still cant shoot. Shooting at .290 from the field. Not like im just random shooting either as most of my shots come up with 'good shot selection' points. Just cant hit simple shots easily. I probably dont mind this as it forces improvement, but is frustrating. Got drafted by Indiana as a SG. Averaging 6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2 assists a game from 5 minute quarters. Might push the quarters up soon. Very addictive game.

+1 on the ditching association for MP. Last year I was 99% association with only a few MP games.

Started a 6'3 PG. Philly drafted me at pick #16. Originally had to compete with Holiday, Williams and co for mins but now I'm playing close to 40 a game. Played 54 games so far for 15 ppg, 1.9 reb, 4.7 assists in 29 mins. Not bad. Up to 70 rating.

One of the favourites for ROY along with D Williams and Walker. Also made the rookie vs sophomore all star game. Boy oh boy do Philly suck though. 24-39 and not my fault, already the best player on the team. Regretting not asking for a trade when Heat were interested in me before trade deadline.

Next chance and I'm outta here. Loving it though. :thumbsu:
 
Got drafted to the Bobcats as an SG, was competing with Corey Maggette and Gerald Henderson for minutes. I wanted to get out but thought I might stick around and raise my chances of being traded somewhere decent, so I then proceeded to break the Bobcats player points record with a 54 point game, and then had another 3 40+ point games.

I immediately asked for a trade to the Clippers, Thunder or Bulls. My trade request was granted and a new 'Big 3' is taking the NBA by storm, myself, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin! They put me in the starting spot straight away and since arriving at the Clippers we haven't lost a game and are currently on an 11-win streak. Already broken the Clippers points record as well with a 65 point game against San Antonio.

I'm still waiting for a proper roster update before I start Association/My Player... I didn't get my PS3 until after last year's trade deadline so when I started 2K11 the rosters were all sorted.

I've hardly touched 2K12 after 2K11 had taken up 90% of my PS3 time last year, hopefully they get it sorted soon.

Interesting 2k haven't updated the game to reflect the actual NBA. Philadelphia only trail the Bulls in the Eastern Conference.
 
Had a ragequit last night.

Playing Detroit away, we were up by as much as 12 at one point during the third. Detroit came back. Went basket for basket in the last. With scores level I ran down the clock as much as I could and sunk a nice hop step jumper to get 2 up with 2.8 left on the clock. Absolutely stoked.

Detroit time out to get to half way. They play the ball in to the man I was manning well outside the 3 point arc who proceeds to do a fadeaway shot from about 30 foot which hits nothing but net. Detroit win by a point. ****. You. Shattered. Won the next match by 10 though.
 
I've been playing My player and I'm currently half way through my 7th year playing for the Heat, I was playing against GS and I think the game has made their coach President Obama or someone that looks exactly like him. :p
