Okay. I am pumped, even more so that '99, because this is Mr. David Robinsons last 4-7 games ever. Let's send him out on a high.

As Avery Johnson would say "Win it for Five-Oh, ya'll" in that accent of his.

I think it will be the Spurs in 6, possibly 5.

I wonder if we'll see a lot of Bowen and Rose defending Martin, this would take more pressure off Duncan on D and allow him to work more at the other end.

Robinson could play in spurts (as could Willis) and be very effective (not 20 point effective but could still give problems).

I doubt very much that we would see Bowen guarding Martin, he is just too small. Martin would overpower him with ease and score easily in the low block. Rose, Duncan and Willis may guard him all at different times.

Yeah...I was just agreeing with you :D

Sorry, you've never agreed with me before, I was a little shocked.:D

"I agree" would have been a much simplier thing to say. Then I could print it out and hang it on the wall.:D

3 QTR time....Nets down by 16, they're finished in this one. All i need now is the combined scores to be under 186pts and i'll get my money back....i bet the Nets would win this one

The Spurs were just too damn good.
Nets had no answers for Duncan in the second half.

The smile on my face is still there.

Firstly, full credit to Tony Parker. After Kidd nailed those early jumpers, I was a bit worried. Tony came back, while we did a great job keeping Kidd out of the paint. Tony draws first blood in that matchup.

Secondly, Tim Duncan. Never in doubt. He can single handedly win this series. On defence he went to the right spots, and as he should, make use of his height advantage over his defenders. Honestly, I thought Dikembe would have got more time...

Jackson had an influence, while Kittles barely did. Jack is a key factor for the Spurs and he did well, besides a few fumbles.

Malik and David were a big influence in the paint and both performed with a lot of heart, but what would you expect from guys like those two.

I'm glad we kept our composure. We kepts guys like Jefferson and Kidd to relatatively low numbers. Good sign.

Bring on Game 2. Go Spurs!

Jason Kidd is too good not to burn Tony Parker like the little bitch he is next game. ;)

Further, what the **** is Byron Scott's deal? Deke was the only person who displayed some hustle (in his 6 minutes), and gets benched while Tim to the Dizzo starts tearing new arseholes right, left and centre (mainly centre)!

Yeah, Kidd couldn't shoot the ball in the ocean. But, he looked good when he drove to the rim, and then settled for jumpers.

Deke looks way ****ed. He has height and defend, but Scott puts him on the end of the bench. Unbelievable..

Yeah Mutombo needed to play more minutes, Collins is serviceable and nothing more. I thought Deke would play at least 10-14 mins after half time, especially since he altered a few shots, and had once excellent play where he blocked Duncan's dunk attempt then threw himself on the floor to keep possession. Nets should have fed off that but Scott decided to bench him and Martin for some stupid reason.

The only problem that I can with playing Mutumbo for big minutes is that he might slow down the NJ fast breaking offence.

After Collins and Williams picked up early fouls I wasnt surprised to see Mutombo get a run, but after his 6 minute display of genuine hustle and heart, he get's benched? I thought he played really well for the time he was on and his throw back on Timmy D's dunk attempt was a little old Mount Mutombo shining through.

I thought Martin was the only guy who showed up who got big minutes. He also got mugged many times when he went to the basket. Yet the officials just kept crediting Duncan with blocks or Robinson with weakside help out defensive blocks, while Duncan was mugging Martin. I thought K-Mart got a raw deal from the officials in game 1.

Kidd needs to bring his A game if the Nets want to compete with the one man wrecking machine that is Tim Duncan. He was awesome.

The Nets need game 2 and they need to somehow slow Duncan down. Should be interesting....and I hope Deke gets more time.

Just thought I'd point out that today is possibly David Robinson's last ever game in San Antonio.
Love ya work, D-Rob.

It took 21 quarters of NBA Finals basketball... but finally, someone has helped out Kenyon Martin. If this doesn't continue, the Spurs shall be partying like it's 1999.

You must be talking about Stephen Jackson. His 7 turnovers so far would be helping alot.

Kidd was all class.
K-Mart doin his thing, Deke again had a major impact swatting shots and handling the glass.
Lucious Harris was impressive, especially before half time and their role players stepped it up. Rogers did some nice work and Collins wasnt too bad either.
