Sunday 4:40pm at The G out in the elements , not family friendly .

As an 8 year old, I stood in the pouring rain at the G, with only an old "spicer" jacket for protection. However I was watching North and I loved every single second of it. Your kids are tougher than you think.

But you're willing to punish your own club to make a stand against Paul Roos and Melbourne?

Yep.....

How am i punishing my club, we get nothing out of my attendance?

It's a protest against Sunday football at 4.40pm and against the way Melbourne play football.

Why would I spend my money on going to watch a game style i detest and don't find entertaining in a timeslot I hate?

The club does get judged and receive revenue based on attendance.

I'll be there.
For the same reason I'm at every game in Melbourne and contemplate the logistics for getting to the away games.

Because the most consistent part of our football club are the supporters.
We don't show up one week but not the next, we don't give half - voiced efforts, we don't pick and choose when to represent our club's colours.

This is why we are the NMFC and not the Gold Coast Melanomas.

I've barracked for North for almost 60 years, have been a continuous member for 27 years and attend around 12-14 games per year including one interstate game per year. But for the first time I'm wondering why. This is a combination of boring footy (an AFL issue) and the Jeckle & Hyde cycle that we go through.
I'll be there on Sunday and will be for all Melbourne games plus the Tassie game against the saints. But next year ???????????

After watching the first half of the Melbourne game and their game last week, can anyone convince me why I should go next week?

It's a disgrace and I refuse to go and watch AFL football played this way, especially at 4.40pm on a Sunday.
You should want to go to see your side play. Not Melbourne.
I watched their game yesterday, and I have to say, if we aren't 40 points up at half time, I'd be most surprised.

Their so called defensive style isn't that defensive. They don't flood any more than other teams do. They simply go sideways and short pass a lot to retain possession. But when you win the ball off them, it just needs to be used well, and they can be beaten by a good margin.

That was last year.

I could protest against a lot things that shit me, such as the umpires, our inconsistency, the time of the game, what time I'll get home etc, etc.

It's not like I'm stopping tanks in Tiananmen Square.

For country people it sucks big time...4.40pm start means a 10.30pmish get home, a drive in the dark in the middle of the year.

Still, when it gets to the middle of January and the 6 of us are on here talking about 2015, I will be wishing I went to that game back in June.

Never went to a game with a roof on when I was a kid. Loved my footy then and love it now.

Agree with that. 4:40pm Sunday is definitely not family friendly though, at least with a 4 year old...

You might still be in the MCG carpark at 10.30pmish, Gaso.
