1#Buddy-as he is popular among AFL fans
2#Brownlow winners of each year-sadly in this case it's Judd (sorry Ross)
3#Nick reiwoldt-he's superstar (maybe b4 the dikileaks)

all you want on a cover is something that catches your eye and sells well eg your more likely to look at a cover with buddy than one with steven milne (sorry milne but it's true)

the things I don't like are having medal winners because what if the winner are: brownlow cooney
norm smith:ling
coleman: josh kenedy
NOT A VERY PRETTY COVER

and I also dnt like the idea of captains (THIS ISN'T IR GURUS)

The cover should also be simple like EA's

Marketability comes along way before fairness in the gaming industry.

Surely having a player from the 3 main states will prove to be much more marketable then just 1.

Hell no.

The only state that would provide decent marketability other than Victoria would be WA because they have two teams that aren't struggling (financially that is) and get numbers to their games every week. Problem with that is that neither side have "cover" players. On the other hand, Victoria is the home of football, more people are interested and there are more marquee players (Swan, Judd, Riewoldt, Franklin etc.).

Buddy would be best. I may be biased but I have had numerous mates of mine who support various teams come to the footy with me just to see him in action. Plus a lot of kids have that 23 on their backs these days. Good for the game and for the video game also

Come on guys , im pretty sure this game wont lose sales because there is no interstate players on the front cover, footy fans will buy the game no matter what. however I do understand a good format and layout of the cover will grab the attention of more people, mainly those who arnt big fans of footy.

look at games like madden, fifa, nba, people still buy those games no matter what team the player is from, aslong as the player is recognisable by most people, eg. players such as judd and riewoldt.

In my opinion judd, riewoldt, swan would fit perfectly in the cover, but in the end its all up to HES ability to market the product and attract consumers through constant advertisment which is appealing.

Also victoria has the largest amount of AFL fans and is were most sales are going to come from, just keep that in mind.

Last I heard Ross said he needed to convince Microsoft as they're very US centric. As you said would cough up the MS points for a guernsey and a footy to kick round.

There needs to be a video released soon. If there isn't, it's obvious the game won't be out for a long while yet..or they're afraid to show us (let's hope that's not the case).

RLL's first video wan't shown until about a month out from release IIRC

HES are holding back on their marketing, to give it 1 big saturation blast. It minimises costs and maximises exposure in a time where AFL is relevant (ie not summer)

The title will be AFL GOLD COAST 2011 (featuring the other 16 clubs).

It says we can create a competition, but it also says there is a maximum 18 sides in the game (The 17 of 2011 and the created team). Just wondering how exactly does creating a 'new' competition work within the game? Thanks!

Exactly. (The avatar is a "badge" like the old school round ones with player's faces on them.)

Regarding that achievement/trophy for beating a Big Ant employee, the great idea that it is, is it viral on a bigger scale? Like, 'beat a Big Ant employee, or someone who already has'?

Or is it strictly for beating one of you guys one-on-one, if so, that's gonna be a bloody tricky feat to manage.
