Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

BigAnt Studios
Could you please tell me if this game will have an option where a player can snipe a player- sort of like what Lloyd did on Sewell last year.
You line them up and destroy them, and momentum should shift in your favor.

An idea for the next game I think- Keep up the good work:thumbsu:

Read the FAQ, your answer is in there

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

First time posting in here, but I have read through it all.
Cannot wait until the game is released, speaking of, does anyone know when that will be? :p I kid I kid.

But seriously BigAntStudios thanks for all the info/snippets etc etc. you've given all of us so far, very much appreciated.

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

One quick query, You've said that you can have one extra team (we all know that by the time this is released that GC will be around) in your season. Can you just have a normal AFL season as well without having your custom team?

I believe so, they want the casual gamer to come in and just play and have catered for the DT/SC Fantasy football type with the player\team creator

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

How long do the users have left in the competition?

12pm tonight sounds fair.

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

When creating a custom team i assume we assign them a home ground, what else can we do, are there template logo's/uniforms/ theme song that we can choose from or is it possible to import/design your own kit, and also in terms of the kit are there a home, away and clash kit to design?

Also had this question in mind

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

Also, as part of the custom team question, can you set team tactics for the side, well actually does each team have their own tactics/ game plan and if so is that changeable?

For example - Sydney -flooding/contested style of footy
Geelong - handball -run and carry

I feel this is crucial, or something similar, to stop the game and season mode in particular from becoming repetitive. I could understand if something like this is not in the first game, but somewhere down the track I would hope it could be implemented.

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

i think the goal kicking will be with the L and R stick or just the R one and i hope players have runs ups instead of just kicking it from a standing start.
has and nother pic been relasead apart from aka daisy and nn . is the snipped ross said hed show a pic or a video

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

I notice bolding "Big Ant Studios" at the start of your post has become quite popular amongst the newbies and/or non-regulars here, but you just have to know that trend was started by some random kid who eventually got red carded for being so annoying.

There is no need for it and it's just annoying, so I'd steer clear of it.

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

And for the people who just joined, if you are ignored, it probably means your question has been answered before or that it will be saved for the press release, videos etc.

You may be surprised that that suggestion has absolutely nothing to do with the topic that is being talked about.

Man these BF toddlers are getting on my nerves.

Re: New AFL Video Game - Part 4

To keep this thread focused on the game and features itself rather than realease date, ill put up a handful of questions which I don't or I think most people would not expect that these features were in the game considering its a first up game for you guys, and you may not be able to answer them but here goes.

Presentation
Will this game be a TV style presentation, example - At the start of the match they show the team line ups and commentator would say Sydney need to watch out for Jack Riewoltd, he kicked 7 goals last game etc

We know Commetti is one commentator, just how many are there, 2 callers and a boundary rider ?

Umpires/Free kicks

How many on field umpires?
Will the free kicks be realistic, so you would have some idea you have actually infringed, rather then a luck of the draw like the previous game?

Injuries
Will you be able to tell as it happens that a player is injured, or is it a case of example 2 players go up in a marking contest , your player gets crunched/knocked down , and then after the play the game stops and notify you that you have a major injury and need to replace the player or you have a minor injury and your player should be rested?

Blood Rule?

Custom Team
Will you have a range of kit to choose from, home/away/clash strips, but also a range of styles and colors, team logos, theme song , and choice of home venue

Gameplan/Tactics

Will each side have their own specific style of play, and if so can you change that? So if you were Essendon but wanted a contested/more defensive style of game rather than the attacking free flowing they play you could change it?

Is there individual player tactics, Tagging/ creating a loose man in defence , A forward who will push up to the backline to create space in the forward line?

In Game Rankings
Like the previous game (which was flawed) during the game will there be a ranking system, so that you can see who has been the most effective player on the ground and the least?

Reserves stats during a season
Will there be any kind of stats or some kind of indicator during a season to let you know how your reserve players, who were not in your 22 , how they performed, so on a week to week basis you can drop and promote guy's based on form?

Congrats on understanding that post dude. Can you tell me if that is English?

Hi, I have no question.:)

Yeah don't worry, nobody here thinks you're even close to 17 years old yet...
By the way what is a "snippet" pic or video ?
A snippet is the definition made by Ross to define a piece of a bigger screenshot or picture. He didn't want to call it a screenshot because it really isn't and is a 'snippet' of a bigger picture.
One 'wish' is that there are different gamestyles for each AI controlled team. Eg Handball happy Geelong vs Chip-to-Chip (to a degree) Bulldogs vs Tackle happy Sydney. This would help to feel like you are actually playing different teams, rather than just the same type of gameplan, with different colours. But if that is asking too much, then just an intelligent AI who will take you on/slow the game down as the situation merits.

Either way, hats off to the guys developing the game as it looks like being the best AFL game yet
Wouldn't mind knowing this too actually. If there's one thing a lot of sports games don't do, despite all sorts of different sliders is that they generally don't play as they do IRL.

I don't know if I expect it to be like this first time around. Something that is just really solid and challenging will be fine but maybe in the future when you up the difficulty to have the opposition really start to play as they do IRL.
