I have a new tactic which will scare the life out of opposition batsmen.

The Sharapova death moan.

After Patto delivers a ball he should yell out waaaaaaaaa to put the batsman off.

If it's legal in tennis,I can't see why not in cricket.

We already allow throwing in the game.

Funny how azarenka gets the shit given to her for her yelling, but everyone just takes it from maria

she so pretty :O

sounds great :)

It would actually be a great tactic in cricket for fast bowlers.

ball 1 - fast effort ball big groan on release
ball 2 - fast effort ball big groan on release
ball 3 - slower ball same big groan on release batsman will be expecting it to be fast

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

On a Serious notethe reason its not legal in Cricket is:
Law 42 Fair and unfair play
Section 4. Deliberate attempt to distract striker

4. Deliberate attempt to distract striker
It is unfair for any fielder deliberately to attempt to distract the striker while he is preparing to receive or receiving a delivery.
(a) If either umpire considers that any action by a fielder is such an attempt, at the first instance he shall immediately call and signal Dead ball and inform the other umpire of the reason for the call. The bowler’s end umpire shall
(i) warn the captain of the fielding side that the action is unfair and indicate that this is a first and final warning.
(ii) inform the batsmen of what has occurred.
Neither batsman shall be dismissed from that delivery. The ball shall not count as one of the over.
(b) If there is any further such deliberate attempt by any fielder in that innings, the procedures, other than warning, as set out in (a) above shall apply. Additionally, the bowler’s end umpire shall
(i) award 5 penalty runs to the batting side.
(ii) inform the captain of the fielding side and, as soon as practicable, the captain of the batting side of the reason for the action.
(iii) together with the other umpire report the occurrence as soon as possible after the match to the Executive of the fielding side and to any Governing Body responsible for the match, who shall take such action as is considered appropriate against the captain and the player or players concerned.

on a serious note those rules only apply to fielders not the bowler.
when a law is talking about what a bowler can an cant do it says bowler.

I think there was also rules in tennis that they tried to use to stop sharapova grunting.
But due to it being called an uncontrollable action something shes always done when trying to hit the ball even when little they had to allow it

I knew it was just a joke
but if any bowler wanted to try it they could get away with it.

Like Bradesmaen said Warney did it, not as loud as sharapova though.
If someone started bowling an grunted loudly everytime theres nothing that can be done.
Just tells officials cant help it anytime i put effort in i let out a grunt, cant control it just comes naturally.

^ Yeah, and Dean Jones charged him for four soon after. Fair to say he wasn't too impressed.

On bowling tactics, I honestly don't see why guys don't bowl double bouncers - especially yorkers - if they can prefect it. The batmen wouldn't exactly be expecting it.

There's a law against throwing as well but anyone who's seen Ajmals 'teesra' knows that it's obviously not enforced.

Need a subcontinent player to try it so if they get warned they can cry racism and the ICC will bend over and let it slide.

in the olympics
discus - everyone grunts as they throw it
Javelin - same
I would guarantee if a bowler started grunting loudly the icc an umpires could not do a thing about it.
Simple excuse is its an involuntary action that the player cant control when he puts effort in.
Ofcourse if it was a grunt then moan like Sharapova it could be argued.

Might be an interesting Question for the commentators to answer in tthe lunch or tea break viewer questions.

A big loud uhhhhhh on realease they would get away with.
A Sharapova style uhhhARRRRRRRRRRR they wouldnt.
