Now that Ken Hinkley is gone, who will be our new Forward Coach, and what impact do you think it might have on our set-ups?

What was his gig at Collingwood? MF Coach? Smart player. Hi footy IQ from memory. Lappin is our MF coach and hard to see Blake C being a Defensive Coach...so by process of elimination, he may well be.

Either way...someone has to design structural forward setups. All players are theoretically attacking of course, but if Mooney, Hawkins and Chappy are in the F50, they have to know where and when to lead.

yeah I think you are right. Will be interesting to see how they set it up this year if they swap some roles around.

There might be minor tinkering, but they're not going to mess too much with a winning formula. ...Whoever's in charge.

Entirely a problem of confidence from Mooney and Hawkins in particular. Hopefuly a flag and a Finals series where they kicked influential, pressure goals has sorted them out.
Chapman...no problem
Byrnes......no problem
SJ............no problem (as long as it's upside down, facing away from the target on his non-preferred, blindfolded)
Gamble.....hmmmmm
Varcoe...has he ever had a set-shot?
Stokes....no problem. Not great but no problem.
Ablett/Bartel/Corey/Kelly/Ling/Hogan...........no problem
Selwood....room for improvement, but not an issue yet.
Mackie/Enright/Taylor/Milburn/Hunt...probably the best kicks for goal in our team with the exception of Ling.
Scarlett...get him to handpass to Bartel.
Ottens is mechanically sound but seems nervous.
Blake is simply a goal-kicking machine.

cara took over as forward coach after he retired the week before round 18, 2006, when carey had more or less departed from his role. from memory, trav cloke was a big wrap for his work in improving his game over the summer of 06-07, and in '07 he was the copeland trophy winner.

he was our forward coach from the end of 06-08, and the forward scout in 2009, and was then midfield coach after scott left approaching round 21, 2009. he's a great acquisition for you guys, wish the pies could have retained him. great bloke, and a very astute football person (as shown when he played footy),.
