Did anyone notice that for West Coasts clash jumper against North on the weekend that the wings and the numbers had a darker blue stroke around them? Can’t find a decent close up pic but it was pretty noticeable on the tv coverage
I see it now, great spot!

No special guernseys for the Country Game? If so I kind of like it. If you have a banger of an idea like Geelong had in 2024 (with the players' original club logos) go for your life, but you don't need a new one every year just for the sake of it. Most of Geelong's country round guernseys have been pretty rubbish.

What double standard does this go against? Without naming what it is, it’s kinda hard to figure out if it’s a double standard or not
Most clubs over the last few years have been forced to wear white shorts against North, whilst Gold Coast and apparently now Freo have worn black shorts against them this season. It's a double standard because the clubs that were forced into white shorts against them clearly don't need to be in them in the first place.

Reading between the lines, both clubs allowed to wear dark shorts against the Roos were wearing ‘special’ gurnseys so that’s why it’s happening now.

I agree that “clubs that were forced into white shorts against them clearly don't need to be in them in the first place” so I’m happy that they haven’t made that mistake this week.

I mean I can’t imagine many people still support the white short policy these days. They barely solve any clashes and more often than not are unnecessary.

But Geelong nearly have to go to the Supreme court to wear Navy shorts?

Its a joke, Geelong could wear NAVY a lot more than what they do if one team didn't have to wear White shorts.

This Saturday an example for them.

Navy looks like black on TV, royal blue doesn't.

Just imagine this weekend, Cats in navy shorts and bombers in red, one can dream!

Which would be easier to watch

Geelong Navy Shorts Vs Essendon Black Shorts

or

North Royal Shorts Vs West Coast White Shorts.

Geelong game would be a lot better on the eye.

Just pushing back on the idea that there should be one rule that applies to North and Geelong, that's incoherent to me. Our blue clashes with West Coast and the Bulldogs and yours doesn't, yours clashes with the teams that wear black and ours doesn't.

I didn't think there was any problem with this matchup, though I do think West Coast should wear yellow shorts instead of white:

But yeah, you're right. Unfortunately when North and Essendon play they make Essendon wear white shorts if they're the away team, would be better if they just stayed in black.

"Port Adelaide is set to commemorate 10 years of its ‘Power to End Violence Against Women’ (PTEVAW) program this weekend during the club’s Round 14 clash against Melbourne at Adelaide Oval.

To mark the milestone and to generate meaningful conversation, a badge will be placed on nine of the 23 selected Port Adelaide player’s guernseys to symbolise the two in five women who are subject to violent behaviour since the age of 15.

The design features five circles, two coloured orange with the remaining three in teal, and is located on the front lower left-hand side of the traditional home strip.

The significance of the orange stems from The United Nations’ official colour for its global campaign to end violence against women and symbolises a brighter future free from violence."

You're missing the point - it's not a rule picking on North or Geelong - it's just common sense.

No team should wear white shorts against a team with a white jumper - so simple!

If both teams can wear coloured shorts, great, but if a team is in white shorts, it should be the one with a white jumper.

Yeah, I absolutely agree. I just often see people try to establish an equivalence or point to a double standard on the odd occasion North wear blue shorts in a matchup where Geelong would wear white shorts.

How do you feel about yellow shorts from a West Coast perspective?

Geelong full white this week at home. Could we see Brisbane in full home or Fitzroy and blue shorts
Probably in fitzroy with white, Geelong navy shorts. Weird they're doing the whiteout the one week they wear Navy shorts

Yellow shorts would be heaps better than white re Roos.

Even royal shorts would be ok - means we share 1 common colour. Eagles in white shorts meant we shared 2 colours.

But Eagles full royal and Roos full white means both teams get to wear traditional home jumper, with no clash. We only have to wear a clash as the away team - even though Roos wear the same jumper - purely because of shorts

That's why I appreciate Cats willingness to wear white shorts as home team - means both teams get to wear traditional home jumpers
