... it's all too easy to forget that the real victims of Tuesday's ruling by the Court of Arbitration in Sport is Collingwood.

Collingwood is a club that has been built on the back of strong and bitter rivalries, and yet another rival has bitten the dust ...

And for the benefit of our venerable fans born before around 1950, Melbourne ...

As many folks here have been lobbying for a while now, it is now time for a full scale rebuild at Collingwood: rebuilding our rivalries.

Where to begin?

Your thoughts?

ps. Too soon?

Well, We've been simmering one with Geelong since 2007.

Richmond looks like it will be re-ignited this year thanks to them managing to actually beat us* last year

I'd say this year a rivalry may begin with Hawthorn. I reckon we'll beat them this year.

*with assistance

Carlton will always be our rival. Enjoy the recent dominance we have over them and let's hope it remains till out w/l v them is well and truly in the positive. They will rise again. You can be sure of that. We just have to look back to ourselves in the 90s and how we suffered before we climbed Everest again. When you're at the bottom the only way is up.

So enjoy our beltings of them because the won't last forever and of they somehow get food again they'll let us know about it 10fold.

Richmond has been floating to the top lately. Tiger's are a near extinct species that make up for its irrelevance by a lot of noise.
And they melt fantastic whereas the others have accepted their mediocrity.

Has to be Richmond. As much as I hate Carlton and Essendon, they're going to be irrelevant for the next few years while Richmond will be thereabouts with us.
Given their fans managed to piss me off considerably more than any other teams fans in 2015, I'll derive more satisfaction from a win over them in 2016 than any other team except Hawthorn.

Richmond and Hawthorn are the two I hate the most by a large margin. I have to stand down the Ponsford end when we play these sides, it's that bad :D

still hate carlton and don't care how down they are, just feel great when we beat them. as for bombers it's gone up a notch after to day.
also Richmond, geelong, and hawthorn who I would like us to beat finally

Bulldogs and GWS, being the other 'young' teams on the verge of success. And I reckon our rivalry with the Saints will re-ignite in the coming years.

New rivalries required. Essendon and Carlton bore me.

Good Point with GWS especially after what Happened with Treloar

Who are we kidding... Every team claim to have a rivalry with us.

Nothing happened? Treloar was always going to leave GWS after their offer was deemed insufficient. I doubt they feel anything towards us about that. Or anything towards Richmond who tried probably even harder to get him.
GWS played hardball at the trade table but can't see much bitterness in that.

Then what was all the Public Winging from GWS about how the Trade was Handled by Us?

Can't believe how many people think Richmond are going to be contenders. Hasn't 35 years of crap taught you people anything?

Well at the Moment they are Better then we are

Are they? Treloar doesn't think so.

Treloar said we be better in few years.

Beat us both times last year. 1st time by a Kick but Made us look like a Joke the 2nd time.

Played Finals last 2 years and we have not

That has little relevance to 2016 and beyond.

Usual trade tactics. I don't see much in it. Fuelled by the GWS-Richmond relationship no doubt but nothing that would indicate a rivalry. Surely they will be one of the teams to beat in the near future but I have to see the day where I am dreading to cop it from GWS fans. All 5 of them.

Wasn't that because Dave Matthews the Giants CEO has family at Richmond and they tried there best to work together to get Treloar to Richmond when he was looking to head back Home?
