I used the New Stand for the first time last night .
I wasn’t too impressed.

The fold up seats are not as good as the bench seating.
I had to walk like a crab about 20 mtres past seated people to get to my seat –(Clearly there are not enough stairways from top to bottom, nor enough room between the seats.

If there is ever an emergency situation that requires calm, orderly vacancy of the stand it would be laughable. (eg. Bomb Threat)

The view was superb, the crowd of 98 % Crows Supporters were fantastic. Its just a shame the result went the wrong way.

The Crows should have put Port away in the Second Quarter but didn’t capitalize on the scoreboard. The umpiring was atrocious with a few shocking decisions going against the Crows which ultimately resulted in 4 or 5 goals

To the moron with the black and pink flag shoved up his clakker for singing “ 4 IN A ROW tra lala lala”
Get a grip mate You have only lost “3 IN A ROW”....finals that is:)

To Blues_Girl, my apology for not shouting loud enough in the club bar. I was there (halfway) at (halftime) but couldn’t make myself heard

Im devestated

well its good that the view was great. I havent been up there before but i bet right up the top the view of the ground/crowd would be amazing. A pity they couldnt have more spacking between the rows...something that is always annoying trying to squeeze past people to get to your seat.

Bloody oath it was atrocious. The amount of soft free kicks the crows got in their forward line in the first half was ridiculous. 5 of the crows first 7 goals came because of free kicks.(me and my crow supporting mate were counting). Port had 1 because of free kicks (by his count). The fact that some crows supporters have been blaming the umpires (i heard many after the game whinge about the umpiring) is a bloody joke considering they got a load of umpiring decisions their way. What about Marshs mark in the last quarter that resulted in a goal?? He had the ball for about 0.3 of a second and the ump called it a mark!! They dont even pay that in under 8s!! Yet a Port player late in the last term had more of the ball...same umpire...no mark.
Crows wouldnt want to whinge about Burtons deliberate - it was there and consistent with the decision in the first half. Wouldnt want to whinge about Massies holding the ball either - its in the rules...you cant drag the ball in and sit on the thing. He pulled it in, he paid the penalty.

The umpiring favoured the crows in the first half...it was probably 50/50 in the second half.

Its wasnt the decisions paid it was the ones they missed.
Anyway didnt Massie get the ball kicked into him?
I dunno, I havent got the tape.

Full credit to Port they ran the game out from what should have been trickier to get out of.

And I agree about Marshs mark. Just the same as Cornes mark in the northern goalsquare hit the ground coz I was behind it.

Macca - I assume you are in jest when suggesting the umpiring in the 2nd half was 50/50. I believe the Power collected the 1st 10 frees of the 2nd half. Any way we can't use the umpiring as an excuse, the Crows should have put the Power away in the 1st half when they had their chances. I remember saying to my brother that the bad kicking/points could cost us. :(

Which means they would have only had 4 frees in the first half, for 14 total (including 3 that were for out on the full).

Hardly an inspired umpiring run.

Not denying the Crows got a better run by the umps in the 1st half, but Port got the better of the 2nd half (contrary to Macca's 50/50 statement). In the end I don't believe it altered the result, as Port seemed to know how to win when it mattered. If the Crows made the most of their opportunities, it could have been a different result (there are always "if's"). I just hope the players learn from it & make sure the put the Power away next time!

While it is true the Crows had the better of the first half, and even though it was 28 points at one stage,I never got the feeling that they were running away with the game.
Whereas when Port started inching back it felt as if they would run away with it "any minute now", which of course never quite occurred.

Agreed - The writing was on the wall when they beat the Crows in their first season and yet the Crows went on to win the flag!

I have a feeling that the Crows will find it hard to even the score - unfortuantely!! :(

ALSO - They way the game was played it was typical of the "better" side struggling for part of the match but managing to keep in touch and then being able to find a way to win when the crunch came!
