I think the next 3 games are going to be real tough. I know we should approach this season one week at a time BUT how many of the next 3 games do you expect us to win?????? Personally, I think one would be a reasonable expectation and anything over that would be bloody good.

Our next 3 games are:

Vs Melbourne @ MCG (Friday night game)
Vs Brisbane @ Football Park (Saturday night game)
Vs St. Kilda @ Telstra Dome (Friday night game)

Thoughts??????

I think we could pencil in one game - Melbourne.
The other 2 will depend on how well we take our chances.

Brissy and Saints are beatable and if we are to progress through the finals (assuming we make the eight) we need to knock these two off in the home and away.

That is probably not the game I would pencil in. I'd be tempted to pencil Brisbane in.

Having said that, we are a chance to beat all of them, North beat St Kilda at the Dome and Freo beat Melbourne at the MCG so that would suggest that we are a good chance against either..... wouldn't it ?

I admire your confidence - but I think we are more of a chance of getting 0-3! - I certainly hope not - I'll take 1 win from this three but this could be the lowlight of the season for us - so we have plenty of time to recover. As has been said though, win or lose, its how we play thats just as important.

poor macca23, I'm sorry I couldn't find princess mary when I was in copenhagen so we could trade her for smith for you :(

If you could pull off that trade Nikki, you're even better than I thought you were!! ;)

I find comfort in the fact that we are playing 3 great teams, and for every win that comes unexpectedly will be extremely sweet. I surely feel a lot bitter when we lose games that we are expected to win. I sure hope the crows exceed my expectations :p

I reckon we're better than Melbourne all over the park and should win Friday night.

It would have been nice to play Brisbane a few weeks earlier but I don't think they've returned to past form just yet. At home, we should be good enough. Heck, even Port beat them at Footy Park.

Like many I favour a St Kilda premiership for 2005. They'll be too good for us at the Docklands.

2 wins 1 loss. You heard it here first.
:o :o

Tipping-wise, I'm 1 from 9 with us this year. :D

Same here! We definitely seem to win/lose when we are not expected to.

That's why the next 2 weeks versus the Blues and Dons at home are so important (and frankly, a little 'scary'). 2 games we will be expected to win...we must finally deliver some consistent footy.

I think we can.

Ok I'll start it - Bock on Revolt against St kilda

there is NO WAY we should move hentshel back, why rob us of our most talented forwarded when Bock will be serviceable - test the shoulder early and make sure he is physical with Revolt, rutten on Gehrig will be a mismatch but he is the only guy who will beable to go body on body, on the lead I don't think there are many that can go with him, thats why our midfiled needs to get on top - shirley will pretty important against the Saints

The dees game we should win - our midfield is a touch better and the haven't played all that well since Bruce was injured
Some good predictions there capatalist - pity about the Melbourne prediction ;)

If we beat Essendon and Carlton, which we should, we will go into the midseason at 7-4 - amazing.
SC we were never as bad as the PS doomsday predictions were saying - 5 years on the bottom of the ladder - crap!

I know..But 7-4, that would be an outstanding result.
Haven't looked at the draw but everyone was saying we have a good run home and could conceivably end up with 14 wins?

What is really exciting is that even though we're not blooding a lot of new players, they are getting valuable SANFL experience and are obviously developing.

Talkback radio was highlighting the fact of all the players that have done an extensive apprenticeship in the local league (current players) - so the fact they're not learning at AFL level is not the be all.

Hmmm I seem to remember myself tipping a 14 win season before the start..then I corrected myself because even I couldnt believe it. But gotta be happy and I think the next 3 games are winnable.
