Granted we are only half way through this season however in some respects it's the ideal time to see who can stand up leading into next year. i'm wondering peoples thoughts on our next captain. in my opinion the options ( without being captain obvious, ( no Pun intended ) ) are the below. with my thoughts also.
Howe - His game has gone to a new level and stays on the park ( bad timing lol ) and is super consistent. players seem to get around him and has a calmness about him.. his age however goes against him.
Sidebottom - Has captained the side already in his own right a few times and, his super consistent, doesn't miss any games literally. and has the players. Age is probably boderline. allthough given he is not the quickiest player anyway and given his resiliency his the type of player that can go well into his 30's
Adams - has been touted the captain in waiting for the last 2 years, personally i don't see it. he is consistent and certainly flies the flag. but he also is somewhat injury prone and get's reported as he does play on the edge, also i don't believe that he has the temperament to calmly lead the team as he is a hot head.
Treloar - his at a good age, leads by example both on and off the track, he does fly the flag not dissimilar to Adams however is far more measured when doing so. my only concern that he does have a little figjam about him which can rub teammates perhaps up the wrong way. not dissimilar to bucks early in his career. certainly in the running
Grundy - Great age, become(ing) super consistent. leads by example both on and off the field and is in the guts throughout the whole game which imo helps lead the team. seems super committed to the team also.
Moore - shows leadership qualities, but really hasn't actually done much when on the field and so far has been injury prone. also the commitment to the club is a bit unknown.
Phillips - his the dark horse for mine. in some regards he reminds me of sidebottom. his showing signs of being super consistent. he seems to set training standards and speaks extremely well and very astute. seems to be the loyal type and isn't necessarily in it for the $$$ and comitted to the club. next year might be a stretch as he would have just turned 23 but 2020 would be almost the ideal candidate assuming his continued growth
