Well, looks like the calls for Ross to go are getting louder. I'm of the opinion that we should give him until the end of the year and then boot him and start the pre-season with a new coach and some new ideas.

With that in mind, the club needs to start looking for a new coach immediately. Who's available? Are there any highly credentialed assistants out there?

Yep, I reckon Caracella would be a good option. And we might have to move sooner rather than later, or someone else might get him.

You can use that straw man if you want, but really - all I want is a forward coach that can contribute to developing our forward structures and improve what we have. Part of it is simple things - not all going up for the same high ball and spoiling each other, having the crumbers hit a pack at speed, having people roll through into space, and having forwards moving rather than static. Throw another resource into an area we're weak to further work with what we've got.

A 6 man forward line would he more attacking and harder for the opposition to defend against.

It's easier for the forwards to draw out the defenders for our key forwards to lead into space on the rebound.

Isn't every coach unproven until they're given a chance? Once upon a time Ross Lyon was unproven. Alastair Clarkson, Leigh Matthews etc, everyone is unproven until you give them a chance. The whole 'no way is out there' theory is ridiculously pathetic and it will take us backwards.

Caracella I agree on. Ratten is another that I wouldn’t be against giving another opportunity.

By bringing in a new coach, it also gives us a chance of getting a few good assistants on board. No assistant coach with the desire to develop into a senior coach would want to work under Ross.

I never said no one is out there. I mentioned proven AFL coaches first. I then said Caracella is unproven but what I didn't say is that he wouldn't do a better job than Ross.
