Next five games

Collingwood is a danger game as it's at Etihad. Our zone wont work as well there and all they will have to do is win it out the middle and bomb it long to Choke.
Key to winning that one is McGovern lose and make sure Choke misses his first.
Sydney 50/50.

The rest all wins, good wins.
Collingwood don't play at Etihad much either. So the size of the ground will be a disadvantage to both teams.

We will go 4-1 I reckon drop either thevdydney game or the pies one

Think we would be lucky to win 4. Would be happy for 3 but could very well see us just win 2

If we are to be taken seriously after these 5 games we'd need to beat both of Adelaide and Collingwood and then back it up with a competitive performance against Sydney. Melbourne are no longer easy beats and Gold Coast should be the only 'lock'.

No good having these premiership contender articles written up if we can't even beat Collingwood.

Could

Won't
Who is to say we won't? Should beat Melbourne, Adelaide and Gold Coast. Sydney at home. Why not? Collingwood away? Why not?

Bring it on.

Collingwood is just one of those teams we cant seem to shake off away from home so would be good if we can finally bury them.

Pretty damn exciting time to be an Eagles' fan, tbh. Just about every game in the second half of the season is a big game for us and we should see some epic battles.

i think we can go 4-1.

Sydney at home will be the one we are most likely to drop.

Geelong should have beaten Melbourne but didn't - Dees will be a challenge as they can apply pressure at the contest and the likely slippery conditions will help them turn the game into a scrap. I think we will win but we will be sore afterwards
Adelaide at home we should win as our home form as been strong. Walker and Betts will be dangerous though if they get enough supply.
Collingwood - bad track record against the Pies in Melbourne, we don't have Emac to control Cloke this time. Will be a big scalp if we get it
Sydney - our hardest matchup in the comp - big forwards, solid defence, strong bodied mids and a team we have struggled with in recent years more than any other. At subi helps us because they aren't blessed with leg speed but I'll be doing backflips if we win this
Gold Coast - getting some players back by the, including Gablett and probably Benell so will be looking to make up for lost time. They pushed the Dockers at Metricon so it isn't a just turn up to collect the win, we'll still have to play well.

Sides are also going to prepare better for us now and will be searching for ways to unpick our zone so we aren't going to catch any of them off guard. We haven't had a real down period yet other than the Freo game and all teams suffer a form dip at some point.

So yeah it's possible that we will win all 5 but I think it's unlikely that we can maintain a high enough standard over a 5 week block to do so.

We won't win all five

Melbourne @ TIO - WIN 3pts
Adelaide @ DS - WIN 21pts
Collingwood @ Etihad - LOSS 14pts
Sydney @ Perth - LOSS 9pts
Gold Coast @ Metricon - WIN 53pts
Hawthorn @ DS - WIN 4pts
Fremantle @ DS - LOSS 24pts
WB @ DS - WIN 41pts
Adelaide @ AO - LOSS 8pts
St Kilda @ PS - WIN 63pts

15-7 and 4th ;)

Can't see us beating Sydney, but we should be a 50-50 chance vs Pies and win the other 3 comfortably. Slight chance vs Hawks 2 games later, but I can see them continuing to get better, to a point where they'll be just behind Freo and Swans.
Will need to beat either Pies or Crows (away) to get into the top 4. I think that we'll finish 5th (14-8) with a better percentage than any other teams finishing 14-8 as well.

Should get up against Melb then Adelaide at home. Pies game very very interesting. Great that its at Etihad as we`ve played there as much as them in the last few years. Pricks get a 9 day break (us 7) but we`ve been surprising most all year.
Havn`t beaten Swans since round 1- 2007 and they have the brute forwards to really stretch us but we`ll give it a fair crack!!
Top 4 would be a massive bonus but finals is the goal and the future looks bright...

Way we are travelling we should get 4 wins out of 5. If we get 5-0, we'll make prelim finals.

It's been 5 years since 15 wins was enough for top 4 but if we can get 6/10 I think it will be enough. Assuming hawthorn get there other teams need to following to get to 15 :

Collingwood 7/11
GWS 8/10
Adelaide 9/11
Richmond 9/11
Bulldogs 9/11
Geelong 9/10
Norf 9/10

Collingwood look to be our biggest threat so our game against them becomes critical. Our percentage could be important too come seasons end

Time to make a bloody stand against Sydney !! Getting sick of looking at the draw and counting it as a loss at the start of a season, I mean when was the last time we beat them 07 ?

Bit of time to kill with the bye.

Our next five are:

R14 v Melbourne (Darwin)
R15 v Adelaide
R16 v Collingwood (Docklands)
R17 v Sydney
R18 v Gold Coast (Carrara)

How many will we win of our next five?

I think probably 3. But I think we need to win 4 to finish top 4

Melbourne just beat Geelong at the cattery, I don't think there as "easy beat" as they have been. In saying that we should win pretty comfortably.
Adelaide just pushed Hawthorn for 3.5 quarters all though they did look a class below all game. It's at home so that should be a hard fought win.
Collingwood will be a huge challenge, they have there mojo back and it's away (why isn't this game at the G?) 50/50 game will be hard fought.
Sydney will be a cracking game! really good challenge for the new improved midfield to match it with Sydney's contested beasts there. Likely loss but if we win that it's premiership talk..
Should beat Gold Coast, the are starting to get players back but are still terrible.

I think we should aim for 5/5 really.. the way we are playing, if we don't get at least 3/5 something terrible has happened...

Need to get at least 3 wins over this period to be top 4 with 5 games to go. Collingwood in Melbourne and Sydney at home are the danger games in my opinion.

Collingwood at Etihad is top 4 defining. We beat the Saints at Etihad in Round 8 but our record at Etihad, particularly against the Magpies isn't great. Need to make a statement that day even if it is a loss, just give 100%.

Get a feeling there will be a strong contingent of travelling Eagles fans at that game and hopefully we can drown out the Magpies.
