Most years there is a bolter. Someone that alot of people dont think will be in the starting 22 and is a fringe player. This year i think i was S. Grigg. Not too mnay people had him in there 22 this year and now he is one of the first selected. So who do you think it will be this year. Personally i think it will be J. Anderson or S. Browne. Both looking to play HB, BP and Steven can even play through the middle and up forward.

So who do you think it will be???

Really hope Browne cements a spot in the team next year. His match against Fremantle earlier in the year was great. That goal he kicked with only seconds left in the quarter was ELITE!

Personally i am not a big Army fan. Yes he is tough and quick but his disposal leaves alot to be desired. Only my opinion but i dont think he will be a huge fixture in the future. What do you guys reckon about Army.

i hope to hell its hartlett, cause that would be the best thing possibly for our list. but its more likely to be someone like joey anderson. rough possibilities could be hampson or maybe even edwards if they can build some momentum

Steven Browne. What I really like about this kid is his poise and composure, and that he very rarely seems rushed when he has posession of the ball.

And he's a genuine footballer. Not some nancy athlete who can't kick or fight. Plus he's rarely flustered. Plus he's good. Plus he's pretty good as well. :thumbsu:

I have Browne in my starting 22 for round 1 so I will say that he will be a bolter.

Anderson will be right on the cusp of senior selection barring injury so it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he features fairly prominently in the senior side in 2009.

I also think that we will see Aussie a fair big in the senior side from next year. He really started to step up last year by pushing hard for most of the season with excellent games for the Ants, and was rewarded with some games through the season. Another preseason will do him a world of good as he gets more weight onto his frame. It wouldn't surprise me to see his name on the round 1 teamsheet but I think he'll just miss out.

Browne for mind. As stated previously has the poise and composure beyond his years. Would like to see him pack on some size and he could 'bolt' from there.

Mark Austin. Although the pace of the game has been a bit too much for him so far, there has been a couple of occasions when he has backed himself & looked good. There is something about this kid, I can't put my finger on it, that tells me he is going to come from the 'clouds' & surprise the entire competition, not just us Carlton supporters.

Yep, Aussie for sure. Definitely the one to watch out for. Talented KPP's are rare, especially tall defenders. He's had a couple of seasons to develop in the two's and will only get better this year.

I pray to god its Brad Fisher. Last year had a shocker, needs to redeem and capture some form, for the sake of our forward line.....

I can hardly believe I'm typing this, but I'll say Bannister.

He is in my starting team, and hoping he can play all 22 matches.

On the basis of him seemingly being a fringe player for a large majority of posters, I'll second this...I think baring injury, he could turn into a very important player for us, and I expect to start hearing his praises come mid year.

^^^ I agree.

I'm a big JOEY fan !!!!!! I cant wait for him to be a regular fixture in the BP shutting down all those dangerous small forwards running around. '09 will be a big year for Joey Anderson. ;)

Jake Edwards.

A similar type of player to Anthony who kicked 25 goals after being an unknown at the start of the year.

I watched the Richmond game the other night and noticed Edwards catching up to Deledio who already had a head start on him.

He also showed his pace when he ran on to a ball against the Tigers to get a cheap goal.

I would like to see Edwards used in a Brad Pearce role leading out of the pocket.

But it's hard to see anyone succeeding playing that position when we always kick it to Fev on a hard lead.

The AFL are considering a change to the rules to allow rookies to play at any time during the H & A season, so Aaron Joseph is my wildcard.

Could have sworn you were about to write "the AFL is considering changing the rules to allow Carlton players to pass the ball to forwards other than Fev".
