Players get abused in every game of local footy. It’s not like he’s the only one. Just sounds like he’s the only one who can’t take it
Agree I was just relating to the post that said he thought it was against Creek.

Come on. You don't think the likes of Moorcroct and other ex AFL players don't cop it 100 times more then the usual?
All good and well for us to sit back and say just cop it. But we haven't been in there shoes for the past 15 years getting abused week in and week out.

Agree 100%.
Previous week the officiating umpire told the spectator to stop or he would be removed from the facility!! Have not seen that before in all the games watched/played, so it certainly was an exception.

To be fair how can an umpire have someone removed from a public reserve ? But then again we are talking about div 2 umpires in NFNL
Easy , stop the game until an official from the home club escorts the person from the venue. I think you'll find 99% of people in attendance would support the umpire in this instance and not restarting the game until the idiot is removed would provide the home clubs official with enough support from other people there to do the right thing to get rid of the idiot loud mouth offending person if he put up a fight.To be fair how can an umpire have someone removed from a public reserve ? Until people get in their head the only way to stamp out bad behavior is to SUPPORT umpires and SUPPORT club officials doing the right thing against idiots behaving badly then there will be no improvement
While it’s common sense and most would just leave there is legal issues involved in that.
You can’t just escort someone from a public space if they refuse
So what's your solution?
Like I said most people would leave or shut up if asked by the committee .In extreme circumstances police need to be called.
It starts at club level, set a culture of barracking and banter but not abuse especially towards umpires.
I was at the game and I didn’t see any problems with Garry, but there was no doubt he was soundly beaten by the Eltham guy.
As to the bench, I was standing in between the two and apart from normal instructions there was nothing.unusual.
You do get some idiots who mouth off, the worst I’ve seen was a guy from Lower who took a dislike to Macaffer when he was at Eltham a few years ago.
So in short, there were no problems in fact it was a pretty good game.

Only a single goal kicked in the last quarter after TT kicked 20 goals to 3/4 time. I assume the match was abandoned under the Northcote player was king hit?
Not sure what went on but not a good look for the club .
From reports he hit a guy KOed him and then kept going when he was on the ground unconscious.

The league should declare the game to be no result. TT doesn't deserve the 4 points.

Certainly been the disappointment this year Thomastown, there would be a few unhappy campers down at the Bear Cave id imagine. Assume there would be plenty of unofficial chats going on .
