What a shame we can't meld Davis and O'keefe together - O'keefes marking and work ethic with Davis' skill in front of goal. What an amazing player that would be!

The Swans winning well make it tough for Nick Davis had they lost I think his absence would have been highly questioned.

I hope to see him back soon. He kept my team alive to eventually go on to win a Grand Final so big soft spot for Davo. Thanks to him I can actually die happy any Swans success from here on in is just a bonus.

Too many years as a suffering supporter makes it hard to be an optimistic one. Its at the point where I only watch AFL with other people when the swans aren't playing. I leave the frustration and chair punching to my private Swans viewing.

Sorry to go off topic..............Bring Davo back !

You summed me up perfectly there! I very rarely watch even parts of Sydney games with anyone, and never a full game. If we're up by 60 points and the last quater is starting, then I don't care who wants to watch!

yeah, there have been times i've been banished to watch on my own, although my family say i'm better behaved when we're at games, coz we're out in public
i certainly didn't feel restrained against saints, especially the first quarter

I don't bash them up and Nick up loudly, I just do it under my breath so I can say whatever. Sitting in a family/non-alcohol bay has its downfalls .

Worst case was at the Collingwood game last year. Made me want to sneak out quietly into the Guns & Roses concert next door.

racid i think you are quite right about nick davis i thought against the saints he was missed on the lead several times and he is a match winner he can can kick goals when the team needs them bring back davo!

to use his own words, i think davo has again been made a scapegoat
unfortunately, with goodes being cleared there's even less opportunity for him to come back in soon
but certainly, i think he looked fitter than at the start of recent seasons, and i hope he's back soon

Mate you know your in trouble when Bevan is selected above you..

maybe chuck him on a wing? that would lift his work rate, plus he'd still have the opportunity to kick goals. who knows?

Works best on a wing, plus with the kind of accuracy he has, it wouldn't hurt either but he doesn't spend enough time there. Seems everyone thinks of him as a pocket player, but the best games he has had he's been out of the pocket.

I don't get that Davis is dropped to the reserves but Adam "193 consecutive games" Goodes can serve up weeks of shit, be distracted by his home life and just get bagged a bit by the coach and kept in. WTF is up with that?

Weeks of shit? His 2nd half to last year was amazing, and his stats against Port would earn huge praise if it were most other players. He's the victim of his own high standards, but he hasn't produced "weeks of shit" as you so elegantly described it.

Great summary, my friends kinda get scared when I'm with them in a Swans last quarter be it at the game or on TV :p.

We're up by 2 goals at 3QT then you have some second level flanker like Scott Welsh or Sean Rusling kick four in the last term, I go nuts. I'm just too passionate I guess. I've actually been told by mates at games to "Settle down, it's just a game."

The worst was in 2001 when we led all day against Essendon who were atop the ladder for the whole year then Steve Alessio took a mark with 12 seconds left and put them in front for the first time for the day. Ooh jeez, you should've seen me then haha :p

Hahaha, I thought I was the only one to have smashed a thing or two in a Swans induced temper tantrum! Must tell the family I am not alone. :D

I kicked my collingwood brother out of my house in london when we watch collingwood / swans round 22 last year. I thought i saw the corner of his mouth move towards the direction of a smile, hence totally justified. :D

Roos on Goodes:

"He just looked like he wasn't working very hard and that's something he just needs to address himself."

Roos on Davis:

He understands that we've got to put forward pressure on and that's what better teams are doing … that's what we demand of our forwards and that's probably the area he's been a bit down in, in the last four or five weeks.

Pretty similar quotes but only one was dropped to the reserves.

Feel for the reserves. He would've ripped them into pieces.

I didn't see the ressies game BUT...unlikely!

Did he?

If he did or didn't ....I suspect that is what they are trying to cultivate or extract from him!

He needs to be a dominant game winner or major contributor rather than a glamour occasional, self congratulatory goal kicker!

OMG:mad: Things got broken that day!

I was referring to Goodes :)

Nick Davis by no means tore up the reserves comp, he kicked a goal, but he worked a lot harder around the ball and on his opponent, so good signs i think.
