Nick Riewoldt vs Lance Franklin

Which is the better player from what we have seen? Disregarding age (4.5 year differential). Obviously Riewoldt has been in the system for longer but we have see a lot of the best from each player.

Both play predominately up forward (mainly Franklin), but both can push up the ground (mainly Riewoldt). Franklin is known for his freakish goals and presence up forward, Riewoldt is known for his work rate and ability to take a ton of marks.

Nick Riewoldt has a presence on the field that many wish they had. couple this with his leadership skills, courage and work rate and I'm actually going with him comfortably.

obviously buddy is an exceptional player too but NR is a giant of the game and have we dont often see courage the likes of his. He is a fair player and i feel he is a real pioneer of the new era forwards who need to be able to not only mark but work really hard.

Buddy can obviously kick the more freaky goals but when u see your leader take a big pack mark or just work is f****** ass off to get into a position and earn the ball it really is just inspiring.

riewoldt has been more consistent.. probably the only blight on his career is his gf performances

Franklin has easily been the most consistent forward in the league since 08. Also 'works much harder up the ground to present' doesn't quite stack up. The difference in the amount of ball they get is minimal. Biggest difference between them over their careers is goals, marks and tackles.
