This is absolutely diabolical for our young developing players and given where our list is situated currently I can hardly think of a worse outcome for the AFC development wise.
Can't see scratch matches cutting it as a form of serious development for so many of our younger and inexperienced players.

Well now it's time to s**t or get off the pot. Nicks can choose to play our increasingly irrelevant senior players, who aren't capable of winning games of footy anyway. Or he can plan for the future and play our younger guys and risk a wooden spoon.
You can only hope for the latter but the spectre of d-Mac and his irreplaceable experience looms over us like a threatening 1 in a 100 year storm...

Yes excellent. Closer to an afl reserves comp. Maybe be called AFL10 or AFL12. But it cant happen until lists are back to a normal number. If 35 on the list next year a seconds team is not sustainable.

It must lead to more sacking from our SANFL team. No need od a coach and trainers etc.

But looking into the future it's totally unsatisfactory.....the AFL must have an answer.

Only situation that's looking at all viable is to return to placing players with SANFL clubs.....they must play competitive football.

Just can't see an AFL reserves competition being viable under the financial restraints both the clubs and the AFL will find themselves in post the Covid-19 cluster****

No chance in the current financial position the AFL clubs and the AFL find themselves in.

So are we just going to play Port Adelaide each week?

Or maybe organize a round robin with the WA teams?

Won't be so bad for the 10 Victorian clubs. Funny that.

Evan playing field. Sure.

How exactly is it different for the Vics? Probably worse for them given Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond, Western Bulldogs and Geelong all have teams in the VFL.

Much greater scope for scratch matches.
