Is it time to un-retire No 29?

Been 3 years I think since it was retired. Cannot see the point of retiring it much longer. The gesture has been made.

The longer it stays out of action the more pressure is placed on its eventual recipient IMO.

There is plenty of precedent at FFC for this.

We have (apparently) retired #45, #48, #49 and #50.

#45 was only ever worn into battle by Gavin Mitchell; #48 by Greg Madigan; #49 by Peter Miller and #50 by Neil Mildenhall...all great servants of the club and their guernseys have been retired since the last millennium.

Hogan should get some random number if he comes in next year, then take the #1 the following year when Ballas is gone. Or give him Danyle's #6 and be done with it. No way should it be him, waaaaaay too much expectation comes with it.

Give whoever our top draft pick is next year #34, and then give him a year to prove himself. If he's good enough >>>> #29.

Or let's see Hugh Dixon play a few games in 2019 - if he shows something >>>> #29. (#17 has always been a bit of a black-hole of a number for us anyway...).

Ballas to wear #29 in 2019 so hogan can have #1. That way there is no pressure on the next #29. Consider Ballas a rebound.

I’m not a fan of retiring football numbers personally. It’s not the NBA. Just give 29 to whoever.
