Defence has 3 talls plus a pseudo intercept marking tall in Reilly. If you're wanting drive and precision from the back half, then don't bother watching us this weekend. With the 3 talls, we could have dropped Reilly and played Grigg off the hbf. I suppose that would be a decision with an eye for the future, so fairly unrealistic to have considered it.

Look at Carlton - unacceptable performance and they drop name players - Waite and Garlett. Make a statement. Team might be weaker on paper, but the message is clear, no one is safe and poor performances from name players won't be accepted. Make tough calls and build a culture.

Look at us - 2 x totally unacceptable performances and who do we target - kids, low tier players. Leaders, those who should know better and did not provide the example - safe.

The AFC is rotting from the head down

but their brought back a 33yr old by the name of Health Scotland into the team off the rookie list which goes against everything their should be doing for a club heading for the bottom four.

FFS Grigg has been pretty much the only bloke who looks even remotely capable of kicking a goal... why would we even contemplate dropping him? While keeping that spud Petrenko?

He's also been playing a foreign role as a half-forward. Get him in the guts/wing and allow him to use that left cannon of his!!!

Ok I'm going to stay calm until the final side is named because I can't imagine two blokes who can actually kick being dropped in a team with a record number or turnovers.

My thoughts are:

Shaw will play up forward and I'm happy to give that a try.
Petrenko will play more on ball. He doubled his possession count and tackle count when playing on the ball, not that would be hard.

Here is another thought, instead of dropping a promising developing player like Brown, why not try him in another position? He played up forward and on the ball for Norwood. He can kick a goal and has decent pace.

Why not try Grigg on the half back where his left leg could be deadly?

Can not understand the logic of bringing Martin back in the squad.

Please Sando surprise us with some enterprising thinking.

I couldn't give a FF who they bring in - its all about who they dropped - therein lies the message.

Do not get the opportunity to see a game very often or post I'm telling Kerridge's parents to get him the f&$k out of Adelaide and back to Victoria where he may actually get the opportunity to contribute in a team that may actually be moving forward. Even Melbourne or Carlton can make the hard call. I'm over it

I am also sure he has shanked a few out of bounds as well which isnt represented in the stats of 24.27 his goal kicking accuracy of ~47% is well below the standard of good teams which is around 60%

Well Mckernen has kicked 21.24 in his whole career so he's no better. Jenkins beats Mckernen in every single stat over their careers except hitouts where Mckernen averages a whopping 2 more hitouts.

Heads down Jenkins>Mckernen.

Yes his goal kicking accuracy is poor but like Riccuito said he has a good technique and it will come. His field kicking is very good.

Hope he isn't

Ok... Not a bad selection. Loving M.Crouch in the guts, Petrenko is a bad selection, but ultimately forgivable, gets one more game by the looks of it before being relegated.

For the extended bench.

Logically, Brown is in. We've been pumping games into him for a year and he's developing quite nicely.
Grigg is in. Again a pretty logical selection. Unless we are managing Grigg which could be a possibility (which also suggests a minor injury).
CEY is in. Sando want's a feel good story and the kid has deserved it.
Kerridge is 50/50, depends on how his eye comes up.
Martin is no chance in hell.
Shaw won't come back after one game.
Thompson i reckon has been dropped/injured.

Reason i reckon Thompson is gone is he would normally start on the ground, with us opting for Crouch who is a youngin suggests we don't think Thommo is going to be fit/fed up with his performance.

Just looked at the ressies team and Grigg and Brown are in the starting 18 suggesting they are dropped. I have had enough, you keep one player who is actually capable of kicking to a Crows player and a couple of goals and a defender who hasn't been spudding it up yet keep ****ing Petrenko. Oh he provides forward pressure, get ****ed! Firstly, it is not THAT good and it doesn't excuse his constant hair-pulling errors. If CEY is not named then we are not going forwards. Why play two players who have shown they are not up to it instead of an untried youngster who could be good? I thought that loss would change things but clearly it hasn't. Sando needs to go, his selection policies continue to be a greater mystery than MH370 and has little clue on gameday.

Selections "so far" are ok IMO

We all want CEY to play. He's a chance.

We all want M Crouch in. He's IN!

Most want Pets out. He'll prob play. I'd rather him out, I'd rather him not come in last week. But he did and deserves more than 1 game to find form.

Most don't want Martin back. I'm a fan, I'd have him as sub. Provides run, attack, flair, good skills, can kick goals. He had good form preseason, one bad game against the Cats and was dropped, prematurely IMO. Just like pets needs another week, Martin has good form behind him and deserves another shot.

That's all we really know so far.
