Out in straight sets, now that has brightened my whole week. For Macca19, thats 0-3 in Finals (and that includes a home final). Tradition what tradition, a losing final tradition more like it.

No excuses tonight. Perfect conditions, 3 goals up at three quarter time, a home crowd. Well, what more can one say. I know - chokers!!!!!

True Kirky, Port were just beaten by the better side, they didn't have enough contributors and relied on too few tonight. Port had a great year but it all counts for zilch now that they've gone out of the finals after just 2 games. And all of a sudden, that old Port tradition of lifting for finals seems non-existant and is certainly not applicable to this team.

Credit has to go the Hawks, what a wonderful game they played, they wasted a lot of opportunities but never gave up and showed sensational character in coming back to win.

And......

Johnny Barker you absolute champ!!! :D :D :D

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA and Im loving it

Ive been copping it from everyone on how good the Power are...Bull$hit!!

See when the big games comes come the choke chains come out

Suffer scumbags!! :D

One bright spot in a very dark week.

I think Hawthorn should get extra credit for winning, considering what they had to put up with, just to get to Footy Park.

Also they've only won 1 out of 14 "away" finals, so the odds were completely against them.

As for "30,000" at Footy Park..... I reckon that figure is very rubbery. On TV it looked a very small, sparse crowd to me.

Chokos Chokers

How sweet it is.
The Pap supporters were surprisingly quiet around my work place this week, barring one of two morons...

Couldnt have happened to a better mob of chokers

tee hee

The tradition continues

:p :p :p

I can see why Port losing has caused so much joy to you all.....in times like this you need something to turn to, and sadly your own club failed to deliver....so in the time honoured tradition you turn to the misfurtune of others.

That's fine....that's cool....go your hardest....funny though....I don't remember seeing any Adelaide crows players out there performing brilliantly last night (except maybe Rehn !!), but then you children cling to whatever you can find....be it the achievenments of your own club or the non-achievement of others.

I take it the Hawthorn F.C. has signed you all up as members for next year then ?

I can understand what you are saying but at the same time have you ever figured maybe we don't like Port Power like we don't like other teams?

So yes Adelaide weren't playing yesterday what should we about it? We were beaten by a better team last week a team who happened to loose this week.

Simply because we are pleased about someone losing shouldn't bother anyone else.

Your telling me you aren't pleased when sides you don't like lose?!

I could sense a lot of hidden joy in Port fans' responses to our loss last week, not to mention Port fans that I know and have personal contact with. They were so full of glee at our pitiful exit last week, and they were sure they'd win this week. So from that point of view I find no shame in taking enjoyment out of seeing the Power lose.

All's fair in love and footy :)

And ptw, it's so sad that both of our clubs have failed to deliver....... there's always next year :)

I agree ant that at the end of the day neither club can really hold its head high....should put some fire in the belly for next year though.

And Blues_Girl...each to their own but I do not hate any club really....I like to see the crows do well (except in Showdowns of course !)....I think it is great for S.A. footy that both sides made the finals and a shame that neither could do anything with it. Disliking clubs in particular is childish....one day you will need port to beat Sydney or whoever in order to benefit Adelaide.....where will the dislike be then ?

The rivalry between Adelaide and Port is great....and as a former crows supporter I think that football in S.A. is all the more better for that rivalry...a one team town is not much fun.....but for me that extends to when Adelaide plays Port....when Adelaide play West Coast (or whoever) I either do not care or am quietly going for Adelaide.

anyway....go your hardest......

oh....and bad luck in Showdown IX & X ;)

Kirky...where did the crows finish this year? Where did the crows finish in their 5th season?

I wouldnt say anything about choking. Crows have choked many many times before, and it took them 6 years to get rid of the finals chokers label. Sure - you won against Hawthorn in your first final...congratulations. But you choked against Carlton the next week kicking 8.20 (if you kicked straight you would of easily won) and you were up by 7 goals against Essendon.

We've both been chokers in finals - so i wouldnt say much. Especially seeing as you lost to Fremantle with a home final (and possible premiership) on the line. I have no doubts if Adelaide got ahome final they would of gone further than a THRASHING against Carlton. But when it mattered you lost to the worst team in the AFL.

You are right...there was no excuses. We lost to a BETTER side. 3 goals up is no big acheivement. We did that on 10 minutes of football brilliance...the rest of the night we were very very poor. We are game enough to admit we werent good enough.

Still if you get enjoyment and orgasmic pleasures from seeing Port lose then good for all of you. Enjoy it. Love it. Bask in it.

But maybe you should all concentrate on how to improve your own side first. No point in laughing at anothers failures when your own side finished off worse.

Re: Chokos Chokers

What i find more funny is that crows supporters ridiculed us port fans in 97 and 98 for "not supporting the state" in the finals/grand final...saying "you should barrack for the crows cos we are south australian". Yet if we ridiculed the crows the same way (i doubt many if anyone wanted to see port succeed) we would get abused something shocking along the lines of: "get fuked, im not supporting your mob of port scum"

Have you idiots thought about next season? Your team is in disarray. No Jarman.....NO GOALS.

Yes, we may have choked, but at least we didn't make complete fools of ourselves on a national stage by folding to Carlton and losing by 10 goals. It seems we still have some credibility, you on the other hand HAVE NONE.

The Crows living in the past...........tragic.

Yes I am worried about next week, but hopefully Norwood will have about 6 guys missing thru suspension. :D

Macca - I agree with you. We can't talk at all.

but it does make it easier than it otherwise might have been.

you guys love it when we fail too.

Its the old Crows v Power tradition.

Its great.

You hate us - we hate you. Never the twain shall meet.

how very very true. Unless by some strange twist of fate the AFL decide only one team in Adelaide is necessary and they merge the Power and Crows to form the South Australian Power.

That is very rich coming from a Port supporter.

35 premierships blah blah blah

Incidentally someone said that to me at the game yesterday and it wasn't eve half time - must have known what was coming.

You spoke of respect - as neither team is playing this week I guess any judgment on who has the respect will be based on past performances.

2-0 all the way to the bank and you know being a true Port person that Premierships are ALL that matters.

Ugh could you imagine that happening?? It would be a very sad day for Crows and Port fans everywhere!

I would have to contemplate suicide if that ever happened

Macca, this is all friendly banter and great for football. We all have the passion but for other sides. But just for information - first five years of each club

Adelaide - 9th, 9th, 3rd, 11th and 11th with 52 wins, 58 losses and 1 draw.
Port - 9th, 10th, 7th, 14th and 5th with 54 wins, 56 losses and 3 draws.

Pretty similar, I reckon. Only slight difference being Port has never had the pleasure (if one can call it that) of playing at Moorabin, Windy Hill, Victoria Park or Western Oval.

Whilst I don't wish to harp, but we too had our pain in 1993 but the problem is it took us 4 years to recover, I hope that doesn't happen to you.

cheers kirky. I dont mind about our results and i dont care that we lost our too finals...life moves on. What i cant stnad is constant bagging of our crowd, when the crows - even with their half million supporters and 50,000 members never fill out footy park either.

It just begs the question why put in another 7,500 seats at Footy Park, if it will rarely sell out? Maybe it has to do with that when they replace the existing seats with bucket seats actually ground capacity will reduce to 50,000 maximum (currently 54,500).

sensational kirky!!! maybe lleyton hewitt - the little crows supporting champ could give the power some tennis lessons to prevent future staight sets exists

How sweet it is that i can write this in the knowledge that the club that was going to revolutionise
football in SA, the club that was going to show the AFC how football clubs
should be run, has now failed in it's first 3 AFL finals including one at
home, that they had to win to make credible their arrogant & self centred
claims they made in the past about their AFL destiny.

Now call me nasty & vindictive if you like, but the pap are not living up to
the extraordinary claims they made of unprecedented success in the AFL
arena. In fact PAP supporters would have to be very, very, very
disappointed with their efforts so far. The boys from alberton have failed
to match the Crows who won their first final in only their third year, and
ran away with 2 flags in their first 8.

sensational EDDIE!
