Plenty? Hardly.

2005 Sydney lost their first final to West Coast, came from 5 goals down against Geelong in a Semi, then beat St Kilda in an away Prelim.

2018 West Coast beat Collingwood twice, and on the MCG in a Grand Final after conceding the first 5 goals.

Easy flags don't exist.

Yes, but teams have relied on other clubs taking care of their tough opponents for them.

If Brisbane hadve dropped to fifth that would have increased our chances greatly.

Yeah, but we are now in pole position.

But keep being negative if you must...
I'm not being negative. My interest now is in maximising our chance of top two and two home finals.
Had Collingwood have won, we would paradoxically have been in a better "pole position" to achieve that than we are now.

Now, it is even more vital to beat Collingwood to achieve that.

I reckon Sydney fans felt a bit relieved when Brisbane beat Geelong in last year's Prelim as it meant they wouldn't have to face the Cats again...

We've had a boring few weeks but it looks like it will really heat up in the last 3 weeks.
Last 2 nights have been far from boring!

But there have been too many boring games this year, particularly in prime time.

Collingwood beat Richmond in the PF who was unbeatable that season with the American playing the game of multiple life so West Coast didn't have to face them in the Grand Final. We know it takes luck to win the premiership, lets hope luck is with us this year.

2019 the Giants had a great first half in the PF and then clung on, however were cooked and barely offered a whimper in the GF. The Pies would have been a much stiffer test for Richmond.

We choked in 1993 and possibly 2005QF, certainly 2009SF right in front of me, we had luck in 1997 (Leigh Colbert marked = disallowed, Libba goaled = disallowed), we were unlucky in 2012.

If we finish top we might be facing Brisbane in the QF. The way the Lions played tonight was amazing. The last 3 premiers and us in the top 4, they know what it takes to win. It is a massive challenge, but if we played like we did in the final minutes last night we are a chance.

Top 4 of the ladder could be like this.

1. Adelaide (depends on %)
2. Geelong (depends on %)
3. Collingwood (depends on %)
4. Brisbane

Brisbane won from 5th last year.

Teams have to create their own destiny.
