Personally - don't really think it deserved either a fine or a suspension. However if the AFL had to punish him - it should only be a fine.

As I said before - I think that suspensions in the AFL should be limited to acts performed on the field or doping. Everything else should be dealt with by fines.
Tarryn Thomas? Noah Balta?
Weird take

This is why the AFL are amateur hour. They are so desperate to sweep this under the carpet as nothing to see here. But we have a serious case of players committing assault and others threatening assault and the AFL sits on its hands. And again, Tex says a racist comment and he gets 6 weeks. So is the AFL suggesting what Tex did was so much worse than the actions of everyone? thats complete horseshit. Yet if Tex walked up to Boak in the Showdown and did a massive elbow to the face and then as he is on the ground kicks him, hed get half a season. So whats the ****ing difference? Why does it take to be a political stance or an on field action for the AFL to ****ing have some balls. The media need to highlight the tex incident now for the glaring political bullshit it was.
Nah what Tex did was worth 6 weeks.

No leniency for racism or violence.

Willie sending a message threatening violence, hours after a game is not far of Tex's comments.

The onfield threats, can be discounted as "white line fever" and just stupidity.

Chris Davies bringing out "cultural significance" and "no one understands what Willie deals with regularly"

Jesus ****ing christ

If you want to know what is wrong with that club, Chris Davies is an instigator.

Andrew Mackie contacted Chris Davies last year and advised him of the incident and what did Chris Davies do? Absolutely nothing, Chris Davies didn’t bother to advise the AFL either.

If Chris Davies had done something back last year, things might not have escalated to where they are now.

This is a club that will find a way to get around things coz winning games at any cost is worth it.

That football club is scum - from top to bottom.

They will require extra security come Saturday night with that bunch of ferals.

Im not arguing the penalty im arguing the consistency. This is what has to be highlighted. Is it up to the afl to make a political statement which in all truth is always a grey area, based on public opinion, which was what it was, an exercise in pr, yet players can beat the crap out of the public and its a slap on the wrist even though its breaking the law. cmon, its ****ed up, each case of assault outside of the game and including threatening assault should be very lengthy suspensions. This is what Im arguing.

But no, an exercise in PR shouldnt amount to a six week suspension.

We should apologise to Port and Willy in advance, because you just know there'll be that one idiot Crows supporter who is going to get drunk and unleash some racist verbals at Willy.

It shouldn’t be racist at any time, however, calling the guy an idiot, a sniper, a DH, a drug cheat is all fair game with this guy.

He obviously needs some outside help as he is constantly angry.

A pity if he is banned as I quite enjoy watching an AFL player with a gut the same size as mine attempting to play.

Just hate how all this noise has given the Poort ferals another reason to climb onto the 'Us against them' - 'Neva tear us apaart' bus.

The filth leave and breath of this stuff and of course... Right on cue, its Showdown week...:drunk:

Kern getting the boys fired up because the 'footy world is against us'.

God I hope we smash them :praying:

What happens if a kid in the crowd throws something at Bailey Dale this weekend.

Cop a heavier sanction than Willie?

Reckon this one is a distraction.

So the AFL had a 3 hour meeting with Port over Rioli today & couldn't come to an agreement.

Don't reckon Rioli is playing AFL on the weekend.

Port Powah brains trust obviously decided the best way to spin this was to play the race card.

"Poor little Willie" - first Kock and now Davies - pathetic.
There is NO excuse for threatening anyone.

EVER!

I'm not sure this is one that necessarily galvanises the group tbh. This week hasn't been about the showdown and it being a 'must win', the weeks focus has been entirely on Rioli.

I think this helps us.

The heat will be on even before the game begins.

Im sure there has been a Showdown in the past, where a free kick and shot at goal has been given before the bounce?

IIRC Boak?

I am a teacher, and if I was to threaten a parent, colleague or student with violence over social media, I would be fired on the spot. No protection, no excuses, no chance to explain myself, fired. I'd never work as a teacher again, and would likely find it difficult to find any employment. How this is getting swept under the carpet is beyond me, and is a genuine farce.
