They gave him a 4-year contract. I'm assuming they were paying him more than minimum wages.

Minimum Base Payment for 2022 is $115K (source: AFLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement, Schedule C, Section 1). 75% of $115K is $86,250 - so that's the absolute minimum they're saving by cutting him now.

Speak for yourself, lol. Although I would say its probably more like 95% so somewhat accurate.

The taunts and "fat jokes" are however justified as for an AFL player who was on an "elite" salary of one, they are very justified. Not to mention, Carlton wouldnt play him when he needed to shed weight so to pardon the pun here, but there is weight to the argument that he deserved the constant jokes.

For the record, I dont begrudge any player wanting to leave a Club. It is what it is, a player must do whats best for himself and family first.
