I've mentioned it to a couple of older die-hard Port fans. Not one has seen it as an issue. They have fully bought in to the lies they are being told.I have a couple of Port-supporting mates who are filthy about what happened.
Anyone else?
Not filthy enough to pull the plug though.

I point out that while they sing 'NTUA' their own club is the one who has done it. When they complain about Collingwood stopping them wearing their God-given right to wear the prison bars, I point out the SANFL logos and show that the Magpies no longer exist. They brush it off.
For people who so desperately want their 'heritage', they have been very nonchalant about the death of the Magpies. How they can't see it is bewildering to me.
very true. Remember after the prelim loss, Kane and Tredders wrote some negative articles, as you would do after such a humiliating loss, and the club had a crack at them. There has been a very noticeable move in media land to constantly put a positive spin on every single Port story possible.
If we had failed the past two years the way Port have, every article and news story would be doom and gloom and how we have blown it.
The Port stories now are about how they are better placed this year, have the best kids in the history of the World and how a premiership awaits them.
It has clearly been a directive to do it this way.

In the immediate aftermath yes they did. Now, it's all rainbows and unicornsvery true. Remember after the prelim loss, Kane and Tredders wrote some negative articles, as you would do after such a humiliating loss, and the club had a crack at them.

Youre just bitter and jealous of all the flags Port have won in February. For how many years now have we had predictions of a premiership in Feb or b4? I remember a few years ago it was as early as October.

If Port don't win a flag, there's always an explanation or it's something else's fault. Covid, umpires, us, not being allowed to wear the baaaz.
Funnily enough, the explanation is never that they just aren't as good as they thought.
Id argue that it cost them in 21 as well. The whole week prior to the dogs game all we heard was 'massive home ground advantage', 'devastated by injuries/fatigue', 'book your tickets to Perth now'Port had a red hot chance in 2020, they just blew it.
Arrogance and cockiness cost them in that prelim final.
For whatever reason their talk this year has a huge stink of desperation on it to me. I think that can certainly make a GF, but it feels like Hinkley has been told if he doesn't win it he's done. For how many years now have we had predictions of a premiership in Feb or b4? I reckon they'll think they have a shot at Clarko. Or Buckley.I suspect it is more because they've seemingly wasted their shot.
That said, similar to Chris Scott, I highly doubt Hinkley is in any danger if Port keeps making finals. After all, they want to get out of debt, and playing football in September is a good remedy for it.

And it was delicious.Port had a red hot chance in 2020, they just blew it.
