It will be interesting, we (WCE) may have the capacity to make a big play for one or both, depending on the Darling situation and that our salary cap will be looking a lot different after this season.

We may also have a top 5 draft pick…

There was the rumour about us going after English from WB, this is not altogether well received on our board. I would definitely preference McDonald first and foremost!

You would have to think WCE make a play for at least one of them - with Kennedy at the end and Darling?>?? - the timing could not be better

As for what are you walking into, for a laugh do a search of Faith's posts here and you will quickly get a feel for how well his opinion on anything is received. Also bet welchers like him are never that well received afterwards

We have some unfinished business with Port Power, they screwed us when Ebert when home, there is no love lost there.

As for Sydney, well their attempt at getting Barrass last off season was a bit delusional.
I have major concerns about what they would ask for McDonald, after their behaviour over Dawson, they may completely lose it if McDonald wants to go home

Yeah, I fully expect that we are entering into a “lean” period. There will be significant change at the end of this season for sure, our salary cap will be freed up somewhat and we will likely hit the draft

Might have been better for you guys to not have traded in Tim Kelly? Guess you guys were in the contention mix so made sense to get him (bit like Gibbs for us) but he's now 27(?) and WCE are due for a deep rebuild. With pick 16 in 2019, you could have picked Georgiades

In hindsight and I guess time will tell… but I was all for it at the time and I think I would do it again. We did overpay, I think if we could do the deal over we may have pushed back a bit more, but sadly as a Non Victorian Club against a VFL club with the backing of the league, media and all and sundry, we needed to get the deal done, we had committed to him, it would have been a disaster if it fell through.

I am still glad we have TK, things would be even more dire at present if we didn’t.
Our inability to draft and develop midfielders meant we had to get him to try and have a chance at contending for another flag. It probably won’t come off, but he is still capable of playing some top level footy and leading the midfield through a rebuild. We just need to actually draft and develop some more midfielders now We are reasonably placed with our KPP stocks, but everywhere else has issues.
In saying that, we may be making a play for McDonald/Georgiades, I am quite confident in that.
