So basically any negative comment said to an aboriginal person can and does get misconstrued as a racist comment these days.
I said the same comment to a work experience kid about 9 months ago. Male, 15, affluent and I made a joke his dad needed to put him in pay roll to afford some new jeans.
He jokingly replied with, it’s the fashion those days. You are just old.
He got the joke because he’s not a self entitled brat who think the world owes him everything.
Some people don’t see color, they just see self entitled brats.
